Knicks have a garbage roster, but they'll make it. Just shows how bad the East is.

i dont disagree

i think the idea of a structured offense will help ten fold. defense is still an issue with that line up, but lets see what fish does in that area.

It's not exactly hard to make the playoffs in the East.

The East is pretty weak but so are the Knicks. I still don't think they are anywhere near a lock to make the playoffs.

Cleveland
Chicago
Miami
Washington
Brooklyn
Toronto
Atlanta
Charlotte

I could easily see that as the top 8 in the East. New York will probably be in the picture, but if they finish like 10th, I wouldn't be shocked at all. On paper, I don't think they are particularly better than they were last year at all and other teams in the East improved.

I hate when people bring stories like this up. What's he supposed to say? "No, we have no chance, we suck?"

Agree with the other teams but what makes the nets a lock for the playoffs over the knicks?

reminds me of when Kobe guaranteed the Lakers a playoff spot.

This.

Reminds me of the Heat Big 3's first game against the Celtics. After the game Rondo got interviewed and asked if the Heat would be the best team in the East and Rondo said "we are".

Of course he has to say that..it's obviously far from a certainty. Right off the bat, I have the following teams ahead of them for sure:

Bulls
Cavs
Wizards
Raptors
Hornets
Heat
Hawks

So they're pretty much fighting for the 8th spot with Brooklyn and Detroit...and with the Nets adding Lionel Hollins and getting back Lopez...the Pistons getting a legit coach in SVG who can at least somewhat control Jennings/Smith, Drummond/Monroe/KCP all improving, adding Jodie Meeks/DJ Augustin/Caron Butler to their bench, etc...the Nets and Pistons are right there in the mix. Especially the Pistons, people are sleeping on them.

Yeah? Well, wake me when they win some effin' games. Seems to me you're the one sleeping on NYC, but that's OK...

Their not a lock.

They should be fighting with the Pistons and Knicks. I think the Pacers are still going to compete hard, but I don't see them making it without a consistent offensive threat. I think the Celtics could surprise some teams and compete longer if Rondo is healthy.
