I own both. I like the PS4 a lot better.

PS4 slightly more powerful and you can change out the memory when the 500gb gets full. Controller feels better too.

I haven't played my X1 in about a month. I'm only gonna buy exclusives for the X1. Can't wait for that Halo collection.

Oh I like the Xbox fitness, its pretty neat.

If you want entertainment and all the apps get the X1 but if you are looking for a gaming system to just play games on get the PS4

right now they are almost the same but down the road the ps4 will inevitably be the much better system

Better system?

I regret choosing the 360 over the ps3. If I had more time to game and I was buying a new system it would be ps4 hands down. Free online play.

PS4 charge you now but they do offer a lot of free games

I bought the Xbox one like four months ago and I've probably only played a total of 30 hours on it :( From my experience so far, I'd say it's worth it though. Really can't go wrong with either one.

Not true.

The Last of Us kills everything that have came out for the X1 so far.

not true at all. I am a huge halo fan but I couldnt justify grabbing an inferior system for just one franchise. as therealkendall already pointed out the last of us kills everything on xbox and all of the games that come out for both systems will be slightly better on ps4 because it has better hardware

Xbox One. Better online community and online experience. Better controller. They had all the exclusives I wanted to play. Most of my friends have/had 360s and will be getting Xbox Ones when better games are released.

I just read that Xbox One is about to update so I can finally play movies and other media from a USB stick. M$ is coming around to what their consumers want.

most of the games I play are on both systems like 2k and call of duty. for exclusives it came down to uncharted, bloodborne and a possible last of us sequel versus the halo collection which will undoubtedly be awesome. it was an easy decision for me, went with the ps4

Meh. I actually like the PS4 controller over the X1 and I like the 360 controller over the X1 as well.

See my thing is the X1 is more of a media station than a gaming system. I don't need all of that because I can use my pc for playing movies on my tv or whatnot. It feels gimmicky.

I guess in all honesty the best system would be a PC because you can do everything on it.

I prefer the xbox one right now, I like the controller better and for me it has a much better library since it's launch and through this year. It's all about preference though, if there's nothing in the xbox one you want to play but ps4 has something you want to play then grab that. I'll probably get a ps4 down the track when more games are released.

Make the decision for yourself though, right now it's cool to hate on everything xbox does - perfect example was all the people up in arms about the new tomb raider being exclusive but the media praises sony when they buy an exclusive, then the media being made it was a timed exclusive yet they weren't mad at all when games like no mans sky were being touted as an exclusive when it's really a timed exclusive for pc. Find what games you want to play and what console you like because the media and the fanboys like to create issues out of nothing.

i have a wii u and PS3 now, i'll probably eventually get a ps4 in a another year or two. Xboxes just seem to be sh*ttier quality. I don't want my console crapping out. Don't care about exclusives because their really aren't any on either of those two systems that really interest me.

If you get a PS4 be sure to buy paddle covers for the joysticks. The rubber wears off over time.

This is true. My rubber has worn off already but my son likes biting my controller too so I don't know if that caused it.

Many reported it just wears off with use. Unbox Therapy on YouTube has done several videos about it and solutions for it...

If you do get an Xbox One, I suggest maybe getting a ScufOne Controller (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UxN_rrwIA1g&list=UUsTcErHg8oDvUnTzoqsYeNw).

Why pay a $100 extra dollars for a controller when you got one that works fine?

There is still nothing noteworthy out for either system. It's becoming embarassing. Where are the games?

Just something different with the remapping of the paddles. Could make for better game play as well.

Same reason we buy smartphones when we already have ones that work fine.

Same reason I bought a 55" TV when I have a 42" that works just fine.

Etc, etc...

This is partly why I got out of consoles. Plus it just becomes expensive. You buy a console that is $400-$500, now the next-gen games are like $70 a piece for each of them. It's ridiculous.

No point in getting either system until at least Feb. 2015.

PS4 is a more powerful system and costs less. Oh yeah, and Naughty Dog.

I'm not into the console war bullshit (I only owned a 360 last gen), but literally every multiplat game will look better on the PS4.

2015 is stacked as hell. Arkham Knight, MGS V, Bloodborne, Witcher 3, The Order 1886, Uncharted 4, Quantum Break, Halo 5, Rainbow Six: Siege, The Division, etc.

Arkham Knight and MGS V will be absolute beasts. Those 2 games alone will make 2015 an awesome year for gaming.

Games are still $59.99 which is basically $65 with tax. But yeah it does add up

Whenever I decide to make the move up, I was thinking of going the PS4 route, though I went the XBox route for the previous generation. Is it still the cheaper of the two? I do not have much need for motion sensor and I do not enjoy playing online. At this point, I'm just kind of waiting for a reason - like a worthwhile NBA 2K or a new Red Dead Redemption.

Isn't PS4 cheaper? I have a PS3 and it has never needed repairs while my friends' 360s have cost them a lot of money for repairs. I'd suggest waiting a few months before buying either (PS4, One) till more games are released for them.

PS4, and it wasnt even a question. but im biased, so take that how you will

and for those saying to wait til next year, thats understandable, but this is actually a good time of year for gaming:

- TLOU remastered
- Diablo 3: reaper of souls (amazing on next gen consoles!)
- Destiny at the beginning of september
- GTA V: Online - next gen (will be SPECTACULAR)
- NBA 2k15

^^^ all released, or planned for a Fall release

those should be enough games to hold gamers over til the new year.

This is why almost everyone I know switched from xbox live to using steam. Almost every dude I know from my high school had a steam account after their parents were sick of paying their xbox live bills. Had a few friends who were paying for xbox live monthly and World of Warcraft monthly. But people who pulled that off often had part time jobs.

The one reason why ps3 wasn't the only system everyone used in my school were the halo games. A lot of people I knew got xbox 360 and live only because of halo. If ps3 had halo, I doubt anyone from my high school would be so open to playing monthly for online play.
