Or eliminate the first round. Except that out West in the first round you do have upsets. Like when the Spurs got beat by Memphis as the one seed. Or back in the 90s when the Sonics got beat by Denver as the one seed.

Phoenix is a young team. No way to really know how they would perform in the playoffs. The more vet based teams in the East probably have an advantage over them. Outside of that the playoffs are about matchups and there is not enough evidence to mak a prediction one or the next.

So the West would likely have 9 or 10 teams in the playoffs and the East would have 6 or 7. But it would be the best teams, so we would finally see the best playoff basketball
