I heard there's ways to not show up at all, is that true?

I could write down that I suffer from social anxiety and I don't like socializing with people, would that work?

How was your experience if you went? Did you even show up?

Just go ahead and go my dude...ugh being around people though, I don't like to pretend that I give a shit about the one whose being accused, most likely he or she is guilty.

Tell them you have class. That's how I got out of it the first time.

Second time I told them I didn't live in that area anymore.

Yeah first time I got out of it because I had school but honestly, I do want to do it at some point. I've heard sometimes they give you free lunch

If you tell them that it will get you out of jury duty but you have to go for a couple days at best when the judge interviews you.

I went earlier this year. Spent 6+ hours sitting in a large room with a bunch of strangers who hated being there just as much as I did.
They dismissed the majority of us by 3 pm. No lie, everyone in the room cheered when we were dismissed. One of those "my team just won an OT game with a buzzer beating 3" cheers.

i did a while back, only for the selection process. went for beer at the recess and came back with a nice buzz on but besides that it was boring and lame as fk, the first two days were just people wandering up and whispering into the judge's ear why they couldn't serve (of course i did the same)

though one funny thing happened, when they introduced the defendant he stuttered and then plead guilty and his lawyer immediately jumped up and got him to change it to not guilty. everyone summoned for the jury were dismissed on grounds of a mistrial. it was pretty brutal.

When I was on jury duty they brought us lunch from various food joints every day for free. Good stuff, too.

Anyway, I was on jury duty for a medical malpractice trial. Some woman's husband died and she was suing. Since none of us on the jury were doctors, both sides brought in a ton of experts and they basically taught us the relevant medical/physiological info from the ground up. Can't say whether or not a doctor is guilty if you're ignorant of his field.

Shit was mad boring, lasted a little more than two weeks.

And did she win any money?

Too funny. Nope it won't work. But good try. :oldlol:

I had jury duty back in June. It was okay. Something that you have to do, when it is your time to serve.

Jury duty blows. Last time I went, we sat in a room for 4+ hours, then I got picked to go to the courtroom before they took another 2 hours to whitle it down further. They didn't even give us a lunch break.
