You do know that there are some people on this board that watched the 2006 season? Why are you emphasising the West as though he dragged that team in this year's West? The West back in 2006 was NOT as deep and there was a lot more parity in the conferences back then than there is today.

And Kwame as the third option. :lol

Gasol played 42 games and Nash played 50 games that season. Hardly qualifies for 'the whole year'.

Lamar Odom was the Lakers' 2nd option. Smush Parker was their 3rd, followed by the GOAT #1 pick, Kwame Brown.

i'd rather have kwame than smush imo... he can atleast play in the nba without kobe. unlike smooshy

And also choked a 3 - 1 series lead against an Amare-less Suns team. Quit in a Game 7 and subsequently demanded a trade.

Kobe has matured since, but his leadership was NEVER one of his strong suits.

meh.. he came within 1 rebound of advancing to the finals basically.. clippers and mavs were the next 2 matchups and they routinely got their asses handed to them by kobe during those years

so in a way i'm glad it happened because if the 06 lakers advanced to the finals then they never really feel a need to improve the roster and they stick with that shit group behind kobe.

tim thomas saved kobes career by hitting that three

Playoffs? That's it? LeBron took the Cavs to the FINALS with Mo Williams as the second-best player! :wtf:

I love how OP is trying to turn the big 4's failure lead by Kobe into something heroic.

kenneth pls, the 12-13 season was an embarrassment for Kobe and the Lakers.

expectations wise for the team/big 4 all togethers output = failure

kobe in 2013 however was having one of his best seasons before the achilles injury. and he put the lakers on his back after the allstar break and dragged them into the playoffs while having to play 40+ minutes per game. doing double duty as point guard while having 10-15 apg for a good stretch .. i think the lakers had the 2nd or 3rd best record in the nba during the 2nd half of the year

kobe literally tore his leg in half to put that team in the playoffs and i think he deserves some respect for it

Kwame wasn't that bad though, 11/6 over the two Playoff series in 06 & 07

rest of the team was pathetic, look at Smush's averages.

Kobe & Odom were the only consistent players, Walton wasn't that bad either. That's good enough to get into the Playoffs with prime Kobe winning clutch games, but that's where it ends. People act like Kobe was supposed to take that team to the Finals.

You had the Spurs, Suns, Mavs. Suns won 54 games in 06, even with Amare being out for the season.
