He's ready to play for 3.5 million this coming season, so he can be an unrestricted free agent next year. Is he worth 5 years/85 million?

Hell no. To me he's worth around $10M a year.

Hell no. The guy should have taken that first Suns offer. Every ****ing guy thinks he's worth a max contract now. And thanks to morons giving maxes to guys like Hayward and Parsons it will only continue. Players used to be a little more grateful when they made money, now they all feel insulted if they aren't offered the max.

Can't blame players for maximizing their talent value. I don't believe he's worth 80 million. As an owner you are banking on marketability too. He's a freak athlete with solid skills. He's not a franchise mover.

3 yrs for 45 million for the Lakers would have been.

He should've taken that 48 Mil deal.

Absolutely not.

If Eric Bledsoe is worth a max contract, then there is a quiet number of players worth a max contract in the future. Simply can't have all these players having max contracts. If he repeats his stats and stays healthy, he's still likely to get somewhere between 40-50 million for 5 years. But not a max.

Should have taken the 48 and then have another contract down the line

No, specially because he only played half the games last season because of injuries.
If he manages to stay healthy and make 18/5/6 I would give him tops 70/5.

Of course not, but there are worse players with one (or close to one?).

The market determines his value.

Didn't Hayward get a max?

If he did, Bledsoe should get one as well. I'm not saying Bled is actually worth it, but it's only right.

If Parsons can get 15 mil a year then I wouldn't take the 12 mil a year either if I was Bledsoe.

Except he missed half of last season bc of injury.

Injuries diminish value substantially. The 48m offer was plenty fair.

No, but he'll get it anyway because of how GM's like to overpay

he knows he can get it somewhere, who here wouldn't fight for a easy million or two

Going by this logic, if Hayward is the benchmark for salary, alot more players are due to be justifiable to get a max.
Hayward and Bledsoe are both ain't franchise changer, who are not worthy of the max. MJ screwed the Jazz, salary wise. But eventually GMs still overpay to get players they want, not a good thing for the league.

Bledsoe sees some of these other dudes that he could easily outplay getting near the max, he wants the same. Can't blame him really when Parsons and Hayward get 60 mil + over 4 yrs.

He can't get it anywhere, there were plenty of teams that could have offered him it over the summer.. no one did. Phoenix's offer of 4/48 has been public knowledge for a very long time, still no one attempted to trump it with a max offer, totally negating the whole "RFA" business.

If Bledsoe was a 6'8" wing putting up the numbers he did last season I have no doubt multiple teams would have offered him a max deal too.
The problem is he is a 6'1" point guard in a league very, very heavy on PG talent.
Same reason we see average to good centres getting big money, they're a lot more rare. Good PGs are a dime a dozen at this point in time.

Come on Fudge that's not how it works :facepalm

Curry, Rondo, Mike Conley, Dragic, and a few other top tier PGs are getting paid $11mil per year or less
