- Kicks out potential superstar Andrew Wiggins
- Forces Kevin Love superstar to come to his team
- Kyrie Irving
No other team besides the Heat have close to the talent level in the East that the Cavs now have. If they don't make the finals it's an embarrassment.

True.
He stacked a team and anything less than a title is a failure.

Don't lie. Even if they win the championship and LeBron averages a triple double in the Finals, you'll say that he was carried by a stacked team in a shit conference and will not acknowledge his success.

Obviously meant to say "win a ring" this year
Not sure why ISH doesn't allow people to change thread titles. SMH

Not sure why people don't PROOFREAD THEIR SHIT f*ckboiiii.
The answer is no though, he needs to win 1 in the next 3 years and I'll be happy. Our lack of team playoff experience will hurt the first year or two. It'll be harder to please others though quite obviously.

well heres the thing
lebrons 30 years old this season
he needs atleast 7 titles to become goat ( nobodies passing mj by tieing him. especially with 3 losses in the finals )
so he must win 5 more titles
age 30 - 3rd title
age 31 - 4th title
age 32 - 5th title
age 33 - 6th title
age 34 - 7th title
age 35 - will be his 17th season... doubt he'l be good enough to do anything else
so yeah. lebron does have to win a title next year or theres no chance he passes mj

How insecure are you? It's not even realistic for LeBron to be GOAT at this point so why bring it up? Why compare him to MJ when he's not even in the same tier as MJ? You're doing him more of a service than a disservice.

Okay except we're not talking about doing impossible things. This is about whether or not LeBron is successful. No one is passing MJ.

So what could LeBron potentially do that would cause you to acknowledge him as a great and successful basketball player?

He's not in my top 28.
Going to Miami and not winning at least 3 rings is disgraceful. MJ would have won AT LEAST 3 rings (as we discussed in a previous thread).
He needs to win at least 3 rings in Cleveland to be considered top 15.

wait.. so now lebron fans are just happy if their guy ends up top 10 all time. theyre dropping the mj thing already?
shit i still think kobe has a chance atleast
all time scoring leader = possible
2 more titles ( age 35 right now ) = possible
ive seen crazier things happen

If you want LeBron to be on the same level as the elite of the elite, he has to win at least 1 more time. 4 MVPs and 3 titles is amazing. Otherwise, he has nothing left to prove and he will remain a top 10 player of all time, which is fine. But not winning a title for Cleveland like he promised would be a blemish on his career.

Kobe could win 2 more titles and become the all-time scoring leader and that would not make him greater than Michael Jordan. He can't be greater than Michael Jordan no matter what he does... neither can LeBron. It's not all about how long you play, how many points you score, or how many titles you win. It's about HOW GOOD YOU ARE AT BASKETBALL. And since Jordan was BETTER AT BASKETBALL than LeBron and Kobe...
Yes. Yes we should drop the MJ thing - in fact, we should have done it a while ago. LeBron's challenge is to reach a "top five" or "Mount Rushmore" sort of NBA legacy, which he has a solid chance of achieving. MJ's spot atop the mountain is safe for the foreseeable future.

If he wants to be top 5 all time and cement his legacy...yes, he has to win it all THIS year. The team has too many good players in a conference with only one other threat (Bulls). If he doesnt even make NBA finals this year, I don't see how he ever can be in the GOAT convo. If he can win 2 titles in the next four years on this Cavs team, he is top 5 all time, and top 3 would definitely be a possibility. IF he loses a Finals and goes 2/6 or even 2/7 he falls out the top 10 for all time. So we are on the cusp of one of the all time greats cementing his legacy or becoming another star who just couldnt consistently win the big games. I am interested to see how this plays out.

Unless you put him on MJ/Kareem status, he doesn't have to win shit with the Spurs around.
The difference between the Cavaliers and all other teams except the Spurs is minimal IMO, so LeBron can definitely make the difference... But I still wouldn't expect them beating San Antonio..

So, people expect Lebron to make his 5th Finals in a row AND win the damn thing after 4 straight deep Playoff runs? Do you understand that this man is a veteran by now. Yes, the supporting cast is decent with Irving and Love, but people are ignoring the defensive end. Irving and Love both are abysmal defenders, Lebron is declining as a defender. The team can score 110 points a night, but are they going to stop the opposing team from doing the same?
They are good enough to win over 50 games during the regular season, but I'm not expecting a dominant Playoff run.
However, if they ring with Lebron dominating, we can bring back the GOAT talks from 2013.

Obviously I would love for the Cavs to win, but I don't see why people expect it to happen in the first year ?
Cavs have still never played together, a majority of the starters have never been to the playoffs, and the coach is new to the NBA. I think the Cavs have a much better chance next year.

Even if he loses again in more Finals, there's nothing that can lower him in people's rankings unless he seriously chokes in them on the same level as 2011, which I don't think he will ever do again. He really has nowhere to go but up.
All Lebron (or any player) has to do is control what he can control, himself, to give his best, play/perform up to his standards... if he does that then there is really nothing to headache about imo... the outcome at the end of the year is then up to the horoscope & his supporting cast, afterall a player cant control his teammates ability to defend, shoot, pass, dribble, rebound, score, make decisions, that is completely out of his hands.... sure he can motivate & push them, make their jobs easier with playmaking, but their talents/skills will take them only so far... a championship & this game is a team triumph.... i think Cavs as it is now obviously will make the playoffs this season ofcourse, deep in the playoffs, potentially talent/skill wise they probably have what it takes to win it all arguably... i think it depends on how quickly they can be on the same page & mesh/complement eachothers games, if it will be enough, maybe not the 1st year... but i could be wrong...

He doesn't have to win shit. the next 2 best players on the team have zero playoff experience. They have never played together. Completely new coach. It's hard enough to win without all of that bs thrown in.

spurs had ring or bust in tim duncans first year. even though the coach had no playoff experience, or their best player. :facepalm
and you think lebron is the goat. he plays in the weakest conference ever where a finals trip is easier than getting the 8 seed out west.

So Lebron fans consider Lebron the best player in the game, top 10 goat but they "wouldn't be surprised" if his stacked team can't beat a spurs squad led by a 50 year old Tim Duncan..
