View Full Version : Are Kevin Love and Irving the best teammates LeBron has ever had?

Kidbasketball20

- He had Wade who was great at one time, but injured for a bit.
- Bosh who isn't as good as Love.

- Irving is a TOP PG and only getting better. If Chalmers is at a 70, Irving is at least an 85.

- And the team all around has more depth and less weaknesses than the Heat had.

This.

LeBron's best teammate ever by far was Dwyane Wade. Love & Irving don't come close.

We still don't know how good Kyrie can become. He's only just 22. Hell, Love may not even be in his absolute prime yet. And, don't forget Dion Waiters who has become the forgotten man in all this. He has crazy potential if he begins finishing at the rim at a higher rate.

There were stretches last season where Dion was the best player on the team and he's still just 22.

There's no doubt that this is the team with the most potential that LeBron has ever been on. From a pure basketball standpoint, the Dwyane Wade from 2011 would be hard for any of these guys to top. He was still one of the greatest shooting guards to ever live at that stage. And, Bosh was a very good during those years especially defensively.

But, I think this team fits together much better and has a higher ceiling if all these guys maximize their talent. It is possible that LeBron and Kyrie/Dion never actually play together in their respective primes, though. By the time those guys are 26, LeBron will be 33.

No, but Irving is the best point guard Bron has ever played with. This is the first time in Lebron's career that he won't have the burden of being the only playmaker on his team. I think his assist numbers might drop off heavily this season, as he will probably let Kyrie run the offense most of the time.

Kyrie is absolutely far and away the best pure point guard he has ever played with, but Wade is a pretty damn good playmaker in his own right. I think Kyrie will be much more willing to set up others, though, and that Blatt will find creative ways to make the spacing work, making LeBron's life easier... if he accepts it.

However, deep down, I do have a small fear that LeBron will resort to pounding the ball and becoming the team's primary ball-handler if things don't start absolutely seamlessly. He's going to have to embrace a new way of playing with Kyrie next to him. The reward could be awesome, but he's going to have to play a role that may be a bit uncomfortable at first.

It's a fascinating situation, just purely from a basketball standpoint.

Wade was only a good playmaker when healthy, which in the playoffs wasn't very often. I have no doubt Lebron would accept a lesser role. The dude is all about making his teammates happy, sometimes to a fault. When he first got to Miami his numbers fell off pretty noticeably at the beginning of the season, as he was making a concerted effort to not step on Wade's toes. I see the same thing happening early on this season.

Wade is EASILY the best teammate Bron ever had. I mean u are talking a top 15-20 GOAT legend in Wade. And they took the heat off of each other in ALL FACETS of the game. Be it scoring, rebounding, defense, and assists. No other perimeter tandem can make that claim. With Jordan-Pippen, MJ was the true alpha dog while Pippen never was one. With West-Baylor, Baylor was never regarded as a great defender. So GOAT wise, Jordan-Pippen is still the best perimeter tandem ever. But peak wise, I think Wade-James is the best permeter tandem ever. However I gotta give props to West and Baylor because they were the original. And at least scoring wise, they complemented each other the best in terms of scoring areas of the floor.

Wade was top 3 in 2006, 2009, 2010, 2011... He has arguments for 2007 as he was the best Player pre-Injury, and top 5 in 2005. 2012 to me, marks his last "prime" year... still top 10.

Although 2011 ends his elite, peak like play.

His regular-season Play in 2013 and 2014 was still great, but his post-season play in 2013 and 2014 was bad.

I agree. Unless they're winning rings on rings then all the success they do get will be attributed to lebron because he most likely will get his stats by any means and kyrie's will surely take a hit and ppl will think he peaked already. I dont think this is a good position for kyrie to be in, career-wise.

He's a slasher who doesnt have much of a jumper, so he cant space the floor
