Word. Black Hippy alone takes it for me.

Wanted to see what others thought. I know a lot of people who aren't really into Kendrick and them as much.

Isn't it all just a matter of preference?

I like TDE, Big K.R.I.T, Tito Lopez, Ras Kass, Statik Selektah, Joey Bada$$, Termanology, Action Bronson, RA the Rugged Man, Eminem, Yelawolf, King Los, Chance the Rapper, Mac Miller etc etc

I don't like Drake, YG, anyone who constantly uses auto tune, Rick Ross, Kangay West. And honestly, I find Odd Future to be the least talented and most overrated musicians of this generation. They are horrible. Tyler is funny and I enjoy some of his sh1t, but it is disturbing that people honestly believe that Earl Sweatshirt is a good rapper, some compare him to Nas and say he is one of the GOAT. I just can't get with that but to each his own.

It's all a matter of opinion, taste and marurity.

Living off past glories.

Los Angeles rappers lord over the current crop from NYC.

East coast has always been more lyrical while the Westcoast has always been more G.

I'm from Oregon and love west coast hip hop.

But NYC is where all the world's best rap artists flock to

LA wins given the lineups in the OP, but NY probably has the best scene.

It really depends on what your flavor is...

For me lyrical content is very important...

NY then for clubs Atlanta, Chicago, LA I do like YG and Black Hippie (all the same content that G thang.)

I cant listen to numb minding lyrics too much.

Yes you were hating, the ryan reynolds gif counts as hating. KC has a dope rap scene too, I'm sure if there were cheesy "underground" artists in KC who rapped about shit like "being in the best shape of their life lyrically" and other stupid shit than you'd like them too. and yea Feva, Rich The Factor, Fat tone, and old Tech Nyne are just as good as or better than anyone I can think of outta Detroit.
no. just no. did u really say fat tone bro? lolz

I'm not even feelin enough current rappers to even want to compare them, but all-time, it's New York and it isn't even close. I know the thread was really intended to talk about the current crop, but think about the history of New York. It's out of control.

Biggie
Nas
All of Wu-Tang
Jay-Z
Rakim
Big L
Big Pun
Kool G Rap
KRS-One
AZ
LL Cool J
Lord Finesse
Mos Def
Q-Tip
Redman
Busta Rhymes
DJ Premier
Pete Rock
Even 2Pac was born in Brooklyn

List goes on and on and on and on.
