1. Spurs - They're defending NBA Champions, have made the Finals the last two years, kept the same core.
2. Thunder - Ibaka, Westbrook and Durant should all improve even more. Maybe they take the next step?
3. Clippers - Same as the Thunder, but added more depth. Hawes to spread the floor and Farmar.
4. Cavaliers - Possibly the best team on paper out of all five, but new players/coach. Needs time.
5. Mavericks - Definitely being slept on. They gave up Calderon, but gained Chandler and Parsons.

Honorable Mention:

6. Bulls - All dependent on how McDermott does and Rose. Could surprise everyone and knock the Cavs.

1. Spurs
2. Thunder
3. Clippers

Top 3 because they are all proven teams that finished in that order last year.

4. Cavaliers
5. Bulls

Cavs could obviously be 1, but they have a new coach and new players. Plus only Lebron has been to the playoffs and is expected to stay healthy every year.

Bulls. Need a healthy Rose, but they have lots of new key pieces. Could win the title or flame out in the first round.

Remember when I mentioned about posting in the main forum more often? Stuff like this is a great example. Just copy/paste from your Twitter.

I think the Bulls have become somewhat overrated. Derrick Rose is a huge question mark.

We should do a point system to tally the total points.
5 points for 1
4 points for 2
3 points for 3
2 points for 4
1 point for 5

It always has and always will be dependent on him.

Yeah, this can work.

1. Spurs (Deepest and most experienced team in the league)

2. OKC (arguably most talented team in the league)

3. Clippers ( Has the best overall pieces in the league, offense, defence, + rebounding all covered up)

4. Bulls (Probably the best defensive team in the league. Gasol gives them a solid 1-2 punch with the 2011 MVP Rose)

5. Miami (Made the last 4 finals, retooled with Napier, Granger, Deng, McRoberts, have much more depth than before. Still have Wade + Bosh)

Obviously I could be wrong once the season starts but imo these are the 5 best teams RIGHT NOW

This is about as spot on as it gets. Before the season starts, on paper, this is how 1-5 stack up.

Start a new thread and well do a 'let's see if ISH can guess the top 10 teams to see if anyone knows what they're talking about' survey.

My list won't be popular.

But it's my opinion so;

5 points Bulls.
4 points OKC
3 points Cavs
2 points Spurs
1 Golden State

But there really isn't much separating the top 4 IMO

Have been the one seed in the West three of the last 4 years. The other season they were the 2 when TP when down for >a mo. I'm done betting against this team. This team moves the ball better than any team I can remember.

OKC
Laughable sets and alternating ISOs for two of the best players in the league have hurt the most talented team in the league for 3 years. And the clock is running on KD's departure.

LAC
The Sterling thing completely blindsided this team and they still almost beat OKC. But they probably needed a year under Doc before challenging the big guns anyhow. People sleep on just how great Blake was the second half of the season. And Deandre took an enormous leap last year.

Cle
Not enough defensively to get this team to where people expect them. Not sure how Kyrie is going to be utilized. Lots of age on the bench...

Chi
If Rose can stay healthy and Mirotic gives them anything at all they will be every bit as good as Cle.

HM:
GSW
If they had gotten out front and made the Love deal they would have every bit as much talent as anyone here. And getting rid of Mark Jackson was a step in the right direction.

1. Cavs
-Super stacked roster in cream puff conference = winning formula. Should push for 70 wins in the East.

2. Clippers
-Poised to take the next step under new ownership.

3. Spurs
-Still at the top but one has to wonder if Duncan wants his first repeat as bad as he wanted redemption on Miami.

4. Dallas
-Two deep at every spot, top 5 coach, legit center back, and Dirk finally has scoring help with Ellis & Parsons.

5. Thunder
-2 top 5 players, understand how to win, still lack the depth needed to win 16 games in the playoffs.
