View Full Version : Feel bad for Wiggins

He missed out in a once in a lifetime opportunity; to play with the best player in the world. People around the league would kill to play with the King e.g love, marion. With Lebron, a player who makes his team better, wiggins would have reached that star potential. He could have been so great. I really pity him. :(

Now he'll have a chance to blossom on his own. Everyone's questioning his alpha mentality. The Timberwolves situation will show us what he will do.

He doesn't need James to be good. He wasn't drafted first overall because he doesn't have star potential.

He needs a team, management, and coaching to help him too. Minnesota has none of that. If he ever pans out and the Timberwolves are still the same as they are now, he'll walk away from them.

Playing with Rubio will probably help his development more than playing with LBJ.

in my opinion i think that playing with the best player alive who also happens to be one of the best creators in the game is probably better for his development.
I get what you are saying, more opportunity for him there, rubio's a great playmaker, but c'mon. Wiggins could have immediately been placed on a serious championship contending roster rather than playing on a rebuilding squad for flip saunders.
It's more than just the argument of throwing a rookie into the fire right away versus bringing them along slowly.
He'll do fine in Minny though. I just don't know if its necessarily the better situation for him going forward.

Bran was not going to help his career. Think about it, he made Bosh and Wade worse.
Wiggins getting away from all the media hoopla and attention whoring by bran will only help his career and maximize his talents.
Plus, he won't get the scapegoat status that the media does to all of brans teammates.

Bran is the loser here.
Bran is 30, he needs someone to guard the other team's number 1 every night so he can have fresh legs for the 4th quarter. He made his team give that away for a plodding stat padder and a bunch of 3 point dinosaurs.
Win now Bran because in 2 years you will be slow, your team will be old and locked into ridiculous contracts and your defense will be like Swiss cheese.
Win now Bran because there is no future in Cleveland, just the now, the next two years, and you'd better hope this durant hype isn't the real deal or your chip days are obah.

Wiggins will fit in well in Minny, he'll fade into the background just like he did in college and we'll probably never hear from him again until he ditches them for greener pastures as soon as he can.

No.
Wiggins is a rookie with great potential. Instead of being in the shadow of Lebron, he gets to spend the next 7-8 years showcasing himself while lebron fades towards retirement. As fans have fickle memory, even Cavs fans will in a few years talk about how they let Wiggins get away...

Wade progressively got more unhealthy and Bosh developed his outside game. Both were extremely efficient playing with Lebron. Bosh is more likely IMO a better player now think he was in Toronto and I think people will see that this upcoming season. Their shot attempts had to go down..
He made Mo Williams an all star. Delonte West lead the league in true shooting percentage for a long stretch because of Lebron.
On the surface it's easy to look at numbers and say they were worse but there's way more to the picture than that.

I view that as a negative solely in terms of development. He would be the 4th option on Cleveland if he hadn't gotten traded and wouldn't be allowed to play through lots of mistakes while his team competes for a championship. In Minny he gets to play through mistakes and log heavy minutes while playing with one of the best creator's in the league.

I feel bad for the wolves who had to watch KG win a title with Boston and now get a repeat with love in Cleveland. Wiggins just got 5 mill based on his jumping ability hard to feel bad for him. plus in seven years or when he's actual is good he can pick where he plays.

He didn't want to play with Lebron in Cleveland.
Why feel bad for a dude that got what he wanted, his own team?
No one will care if he won titles with that dream team.

A pg, SG and pf who have never made the playoffs, a C who could retire right now, and a scrubby d league bench. Wow, what a dream team!
