Anyone watch this show? Just discovered it and far better than most of the other reality type stuff.

its a good show but you're underrating most other reality shows.
i swear reality shows are so much better than regular shows, especially when reality is a lot more realistic than the skeptics want to spin.
i've googled quite a few bars in bar rescue after watching episodes and its legit. yelp is probably the best restaurant/food review authority there is.

It has a nice predictable cadence to it, which makes it incredibly watchable. Especially in those Sunday Marathon forms. Within an hour, you get a bit on several seperate topics which support hour long shows all by themselves. Renovation. Interior Design. Booze. Food. Marketing. Even women. It just touches the surface of these things in a way that keeps an audience of laymen thinking they're experts without their eyes glossing over.
I have been to a couple of the places they've done. I don't know. It seems like the biggest benefit is being able to put "As Seen on Bar Rescue" on the sign. I would describe either of them as the best bar I've ever been too. But they were both nice enough.
I've enjoyed the few investor shows I've seen with John Taffer too, and generally I'm not that fond of him. But he's in that goldilocks zone of annoying enough for me to be irked by him without being such a jerk I want to change the channell.

Taffer is such a dikk :oldlol:
when he spazzes, which is like every episode, he is like a crazy guy going nuts where u almost want to laff. he's like one of those jerk off kind of guys that takes a lot of things rather serious i feel, even if you're casually just hanging out with him i can see him kind of randomly going nuts over something.
they have this new show with Taffer, Jon Baystyle(sp? the master chef guy), and some lady called Investors or something where they choose a restaurant to invest in where the restaurants compete. watched this episode where they're cooking grilled oysters, and this one place chars them pretty heavy while Baystyles place keeps them rather raw but light grilled. Taffer is eating them and gets in this huge fight with Baystyle over the place that chars them being better than his restaurants, and Baystyle is pissed too. Taffer spazzes and rolls out :lol I love how he doesn't bullshit tho...like most guys would pretend the master chef is right even if his famous restaurants tasted worse than the amateurs.
anyways Bar Rescue is a good marathon watch because every bar is so different with different crowds, and they really mix it up. there is this one with 2 ex male strippers where one is a MMA fighter, and these co owner dudes are such roid head spazzes they're about to fight every time they're together. Taffer comes in re-does the place...i google it and u find out they're like a drug bar selling meth in the bathrooms(likely owner getting cuts) since the owners were so in debt.
crazy shit tho how real these places are with so many issues u get to see close up like a lot of them have some foul kitchens. Yelp people are regular people giving reviews/impressions, in fact they tend to make/break a lot of restaurants/business's and you get full stories from them sometimes even pre and post Bar Rescue.

I watch it.
As others have said it's pleasantly predictable. Taffer is handed a bar which is failing because of many things. Either cleaning, food or bar standards.
He goes, yells a little(for very good reason actually) and cleans the place up. You can see the updates @ barrescueupdates.com
There's one episode where the walk-in fridge is so dirty, there's SEVERAL sizable mushrooms growing out of the walls.
The pirate episode is probably a fan favorite.

Watch it religiously. Only reality TV show that's worth watching in my humble opinion.
It's funny cause they aired a "lost episode" of Bar Rescue this year which was never aired in the first season for obvious reasons. Jon is so calm in the episode even when people are screaming and hitting each other. His demeanor in that episode is probably his true character, so I'm assuming the producers told him to liven up the show a bit by doing a little shouting and a little bottle breaking here or there. Either way, Jon has a wealth of knowledge on a lot of things and the shows are quite entertaining to watch.
