The commentators dont know who the other players are, it's the same for every sport. :oldlol:

The average fan doesn't care about the lower ranked players, therefore the commentators see no point in talking about them. Unless they start winning the match.

I've watched tennis for about 10-12 years. Back in about 2004, they often listed the strengths of the opponent and complimenting parts of their game. Nowadays, it's all about the top player blah blah blah. Just as a long time tennis fan, I feel commentating has gotten very bad. The Federer match last night was poorly commentated.
