Well there might be some moving on now that the creator has clarified the issue.

I've been saying this since the series finale aired. If people had the ability to read between the lines, they'd realize Chase has said as much since then as well. But Nooooooo, look at all dem Da Vinci code clues. :facepalm
The point of the finale (and the series as a whole) went completely over most people's heads.
