i hate when mod's do shit on OTC. my last few bans have been based on mf'ers starting shit with me and me retaliating, and i'm assuming them reporting....its like that NBA shit where the dude who always retaliates gets penalized because the camera never catches the initial cause for the altercation the jerkoff started.

Well, there are no mods in the OTC. Only Jeff/Steve can delete posts in here. Just an FYI. The Main NBA Forum mods can only moderate that specific forum. That goes for all of the sub-forums on this site.

There are things that happen on here that regular posters can't see. There needs to be some level of moderation on the board, but there are times that certain posters (usually the same 5-10 which are probably all the same person using alts) just abuse that system of moderation. For example, when someone makes a thread that is completely inflammatory and derogatory or racist or whatever that warrants deletion, for you and the rest of the board, the thread just disappears.

But for the people with moderation privileges, those threads stay visible and -- often times -- the poster will just create the same thread over and over and over again. I've seen a situation where a troll has made the same thread over 100 times in under 30 minutes. Every time it was deleted, they just re-post it... to the point where it took up the first 3-4 pages of the forum.

And, because mods don't have the ability to ban, there's really nothing that can be done until Jeff logs on. All we can do is keep deleting it. Those are the kinds of things that -- to me -- are worthy of a ban.

These forums are moderated very lightly compared almost any other major basketball forum on the 'net. In general, people here are pretty good about just moderating themselves or ignoring the idiots. But, there are times when trolls try to take advantage of that lenience and basically just send a big f#ck you to the people just trying to keep a little order occasionally.

Just a note...both guys had the same IP, but it's possible that they are separate individuals who know each other in real life. It's also maybe possible I guess (I don't know how one would do this, though), that the other guy, as a member of the staff at the time, saw what stalker's IP was, and intentionally made his own machine appear to use that address (if this is possible, that is...I'm not sure if it is). Which of the three possibilities is the case doesn't matter to me at all.

Anyhow though, it's not an issue anymore. I have no problem with stalker posting on this board. He's a chill guy, and knows his hoops, but he's just brutally honest. He might come off as a troll, but that's exactly the opposite of what he's doing. As outlandish as some of the things he's said might seem, on other boards he's backed them up with photographic proof. Basically, he's alright in my book.

I do have to disagree about not banning trolls though. The guys who were banned are like cockroaches, and have dozens of other names here. They're gimmicks, and most likely Jeff knows what their alts are. The board was unreadable when dubeta/lebronxrings and a few others were spamming every ****ing thread, so if Jeff chooses to ban them, I'm sure he had reason (and again, it's not like they're out of the picture...they're certainly still on the site on some name or another, and we'll definitely hear from them again).

I love you, again. However, I do think you're a little psycho for making up such an outlandish story about me. Or maybe you're just really, really mistaken.
