I'm really not looking forward to it. I'm 30 and I can't remember the last time I've been to the dentist, but I had to be somewhere around 15 years old. I'm having pain problems and my wisdom teeth are scraping and cutting the inside of my mouth...so I decided I have to just bite the bullet and go. Anyone else not been to the dentist in years?

Prepare your anus.

And your mouth obviously...

It's probably been 20 for me. Luckily for me, my wisdom teeth grew straight up.

Good luck.

I haven't gone in 2 years. But my teeth aren't in bad shape or anything. I'm also never going to grow wisdom teeth so I have nothing to worry about atm.

Two wisdom teeth are growing in and they don't hurt. Also no one in my family had to get their wisdom teeth removed so hopefully I don't either . One of my friends had 4 of hers taken out in one day. I felt bad for her :confusedshrug:

15 years? Do you floss? Your breath might be horrible

NBAplayoffs - I got mine out all at the same time, everyone I know had them all at the same time. Wasn't too bad. I'd get checked even if they don't need to come out, I know people who had no pain so left it and it still ****ed up their front teeth.

I haven't been in about 5 or 6 years now, I know I have some holes in my back teeth though so need to go soon.

Only been to the dentist three times in my life. All my teeth grew in straight and I don't recall much pain.

Went about a year ago because I chipped my tooth and figured it had been long enough since my last visit (probably when I was 18) and had no problems.

Maybe I'm just really lucky. I brush regularly and maintain good oral hygiene, so never saw a reason to make more frequent visits.

Your going to get an x-ray done. And you should DEFIANTLY get a cleaning if the hygienist is in. Wisdom teeth can lead to painful infections.

It's actually pretty common for people to not visit the dentist, but take care of your teeth oral pain is the worst.

Haven't been in 7 years.

My teeth are fine except for some crooked ones in the back, I see no need to go. I keep them clean, brush regularly and floss.

Damn, and I'm nervous about not having gone in a year and a half. You guys go a long time without routine cleanings.

Alright, so i just got back...I have four cavities. They actually said my teeth were in pretty good shape for not going to the dentist in so long. The worst cavity was in my upper left wisdom tooth so my insurance will cover that getting pulled...but I have to pay to have the other one removed which sucks. I still have a baby tooth to, but I knew that already. They would have to pull it out and use a chain to bring down the adult tooth which is major oral surgery. I actually remember 15 years ago them talking about that...it would cost thousands of dollars though, so that isn't happening anytime soon.

I hadn't been to the dentist in 15+ years also... went a few years back to get a rotting wisdom tooth pulled... they said that my teeth were perfect otherwise and they couldn't believe it.

I brush once daily and use mouthwash... that's it.

Went into the dentist almost 2 years ago. I need to whiten my teeth.
