People still to this day say CP3 deserved the MVP because his stats were better (when it came to efficiency).

He got cooked by both Parker and Manu in that series, Duncan took a backseat and let the boys go off on him. CP3 had a better supporting cast than Kobe that year as well.

Prime David West putting up 20 & 9 a game, 25 yr old Chandler putting up 12 & 12 on 62% shooting, Peja still had it and shot 44% from 3 with nearly 7 attempts a game...

My theory is that high-scoring point guards in this era can't lead teams to NBA championships. If your team is led by a scoring PG like Rose or CP3, your chances of winning it all are rather thin when facing elite defenses. It hasn't happened since the Bad Boy Pistons. Bulls have a similar build though and IF Rose can stay healthy all season(especially for the Playoffs), they have a shot as good as anyone in the East.

The key to success has been an elite, all-around SG (Jordan, Bryant, Wade) or/and a dominant big man (Hakeem, Shaq, Duncan) or a team with great chemistry(or stacked) and GOAT-level defense (2004 Pistons, 2008 Celtics, 2011 Mavs, 2014 Spurs), and of course, you have Miami with Lebron, Wade, Bosh, + key role players(Miller, Allen, Battier) having big games/making big plays.

CP3 is one of the GOATs at stuffing the stat sheet, but to me he's almost like the Tracy McGrady of PGs. He doesn't go deep in the Playoffs. His game does not transcend from the regular season to the Playoffs when going up against elite teams and playing for a championship. He might have similar numbers, but he either gets cooked on the defensive end or he makes some stupid ass plays that costs his team down the stretch.
