:lebronamazed:

Damn man, that's harsh. Sometimes people get arrested for domestic issues and they never touched their partner. How can you be so black and white? Lifetime ban? :biggums:

No more dunking over the goal posts? :biggums:

Year long suspension for smoking weed? :biggums:

WTF?

Being employed by someone is a privilege, not a right.

It's not too harsh and they can do whatever the **** they want. If it's bad for business then the NFL will suffer the consequences of that. If it's good for business, then the NFL will reap the rewards of that.

6 games for 1st offense and then lifetime ban for the 2nd is a bit idiotic though.

NFL continues to be incredibly tone deaf on this.

beating a woman TWO TIMES is enough for me, GTFO :confusedshrug:

only NFL player I can think of that has done this is Brandon Marshall...who probably should be in jail

Who says you have to beat a woman to get a domestic violence charge? Have you ever dealt with a woman? Here's a hint - They lie. They lie a lot.

I'm not saying the lifetime ban is dumb

its that the first only nets you 6 games

that isnt even half a season.

while the nfl is changing rules, they should go ahead and fix their drug policy.

I'd stop beating women for a million dollars.

also, here is the thing... if you are proven to have beaten the **** out of your woman like Rice you should get more than a 6 game suspension as far as I'm concerned.

I feel like this also has a lot of potential to blow up in their faces b/c all domestic abuse cases are not equal.

Say a guy got into a fight with a woman and he shoves her away causing her to fall and hurt a wrist or something. OK, that's not good but how in the hell should that be equal to Rice knocking his woman the **** out? Say a shoving incident like that happens a second time b/c the relationship is incredibly volatile. Ok, so the shover should be banned while the guy that knocked his wife out can come back? The ****?

its not just pot. robert mathis taking fertility drugs got treated the same way as brian cushing taking steroids, 4 game suspension for both of them, thats just fvcking retarded. the entire drug policy needs to be redone.

Go back and suspend Rice more games then. The season hasn't even yet started. It's not like he's missing games already.

And people are ridiculous on the "women lie" bullshit, twice? Twice you are going to have to plead guilty to false domestic violence charges? TWICE? QTF...

Nobody knows is Mathis was telling the truth, there's been literally ten baseball players who told the same story.

right they aren't all equal...perhaps it is just a min 6 games for that reason

Dez slapped his own mother and was actually arrested for it...which is bad don't get me wrong but it isn't the same thing as beating a woman down War Machine style

I just don't think its right for a situation like Dez's to possibly equal a lifetime ban if his crazy crackhead mother flips out again while a dude like Rice can knock his wife the **** out and come back to play in the same year it happened.

This just seems to me like a really lazy zero tolerance type policy designed to get the media off their back to.

The NFL can claim they will view each case individually but if you look at how they have acted regarding their drug policy I just don't believe they are going to do that.

What feminism has done to this Earth is ****ing disgusting. As a man, it is your God-given right to correct a woman with your hand. It's what puts food on the table.

you'd be suprised. I know some crazy bitches

And vindictive if they know they can get you in serious trouble if things go south.

To only get 'charged' & not convicted (?) of domestic abuse twice doesn't seem quite right.

Anytime a woman calls the cop a man will damn near be arrested no matter how petty & vindictive the claim is.

It's not a new rule. Basically a memo you read it. Nothing has changed, it's simply a notice from the commissioner to ownership on how he will handle off the field incidents that already fell under his total discretion.

It's a lifetime ban but the player can apply for reinstatement after 1 year.

So it's essentially one year unless the NFL denies reinstatement. It's the same penalty as multiple substance abuse violations I believe.

Beat up my wife or make millions of dollars playing the sport I love while being admired?

Pretty easy decision for me.

But I guess if your an NFL player, and you can't control your emotions or your b1tch, it's probably worth it to whoop Dat a$$ and forfeit your career

NFL players are not exactly gentlemen and they don't date ladies either, so it's gonna be a hell of a headache sorting through cases like that. Does NFL have a dispute resolution/players' status committee? It seems to me you need to do some detective and judiciary work if a career hangs in the air.

Yea I have a feeling that the NFL is gonna get sued out the ass if they try to kill a player's career over a couple small disputes.. this is way too ambiguous.

Don't they know that women lie all the time? Not one single truth has been spoken by a woman, unlike real men who never told a lie, especially professional athletes. I mean damn this world is about to end, women rights that and women right this, sheez!

You guys are talking like you even need to beat a woman to receive a DV charge.

If cops are called on a DV, they are taking one of the parties in regardless of the circumstances. Doesn't matter if no one was touched, property damage of any sort constitutes domestic violence.

The victim can go on record saying nothing happened to them and they don't want to press charges, but the state can and most likely will pick up the case.
