Handy center to have off the bench.

Don't know why they are waiving this guy, unless they have someone to replace him?

Bulls could give him a look :confusedshrug:

No better or worse than Ryan Hollins.

Yeah, if the Clippers dump him, he would be a nice pickup for the Cavs. He didn't get much playing time last year, but he was ok when he did play.

Why didn't the Clippers just use stretch provision on Dudley? Is there a rule against using it on players who hold player options in their contracts?

I mean stretching him would have reduced this year's cap hit to $1.7M instead of $4.25M, meaning they would have had enough room to sign 2 guys at the minimum plus be a little under their hard cap of $81M. That would make more sense than trading away a potentially useful first round pick down the road (I know it's likely a late first, but you gotta manage assets). I might be wrong, but Doc doesn't seem like the best GM of the bunch.

Cavs needs a backup Center.

Ekpe Udoh > Miroslav.
He may be more developed/ready, but LAC easily could have stretched Dudley to sign Udoh and CDR (if that's who they also want). There was no point in giving up a first to salary dump a player whom you don't want, only to use stretch provision and/or waive the two players you get in return (just to free up cash to go sign those 2 other FAs).

FWIW didn't Miroslav play decently well defensively in his limited role last year? I can see the Cavs or Heat going after him. Maybe the Dubs too since they didn't sign any backup bigs this off season to replace JO (or I can't remember if they did or not).

They should have just kept him and then if there was an injury, he gets minutes. Otherwise trade him later.

Dudley was signed before the new CBA, therefore, isn't stretch eligible.

The Miroslav waiving is idiotic, same with Delfino though.

Was not aware that was a requirement. Still think it wasn't a smart move.
