Nuggets are the Hawks of the West.

Nuggets first month schedule is tough, they play OKC twice and Cleveland twice

Can Shaw coach? Sure didn't appear that way last year.

Well if you watched there games, they had a ton of injuries

Lawson missed 20+ games there best player
starting center mcgee missed teh season
Gallanri had a season ending injury as well
They had everyone missing games, and never played with the regular starting roster

This is one team i pay no attention too, making the playoffs would change that tho.

They were exciting run and gun team wiht George Karl but with Shaw half court offense they got to step it up big time.

I've never seen a team so full of young afterthoughts.

But that's where the depth comes into play.

How are they underrated?

They will be competing for a bottom spot, seventh or eighth, in the playoffs in the very tough and competitive Western Conference. Maybe they sneak into the playoffs or narrowly miss out. That looks realistic when compared to the other teams in the conference.

To the OP, what teams in the Western Conference is Denver better than?

Spurs

These 3 are the only 3 teams i think are better then them clearly

Warriors
Rockets
Grizzlies
Mavs
Portland

all have an arguement imo

outside of Lawson they are full of mid-level players

the west is too top heavy for them to get noticed

But that's where the depth comes into play.

Not really. We were a team that relies on depth and got raped by injuries like you could never expect. Gallo out entire season, Lawson missed 20 games/banged up, Chandler missed games, Nate Robinson, Andre Miller held out and at one point Randy Foye started at PG for us. McGee missed the entire season. Even guys like Hickson/Arthur got hurt at some point.

I have no idea how the Nuggets won 36 games in the West. Shaw deserves credit for that. It was stupid and we should have lost way more games and got a better pick.

I've never seen a team so full of young afterthoughts.

Lawson shouldn't be an afterthought tho. He's a legit player. AA is a fringe All-Star type guy, and a healthy Gallo is a pretty good piece but I mean he's never healthy so I'll let that slide. Faried? The guy who's making a name for himself on the US team, which admittedly is kinda irrelevant but still far from an "afterthought". Guess if you only watch ESPN and care about jersey sales & top 10 lists.

Nuggets won 57 games with a similar roster. Choked in the playoffs, which was usually a George Karl special mixed with some shitty luck/superior teams. There built for the regular season and will surprise people, playoffs is a different story. Not much hope there. I'd lay down some serious coin that the Nuggets make the playoffs and win 48-55 games depending on health.

There adding Gallo, AA, McGee who missed EVERY game to a 36 win team. That's our 2nd/3rd best players depending on what Faried does next season. Robinson, Chandler, Lawson should be healthier as well at the start of the season anyways.

Yeah George Karl style wasnt good for playoffs man....but Shaw got a better half court system. I think addition to all the players that was hurt, this team can make some noise

Yeah that looks like a really solid team. I almost forgot they got Afflalo back. Would be a 4-8 seed in East but unfortunately for them, they will struggle to make the playoffs out West.

Don't forget Gary Harris though. There's some solid guards on the team but I feel he can make a splash right away if given the chance.

Yeha they got couple other players who isnt a slouch either, but this core of 10 players is pretty well balanced.
I mean afflao, gallanari, lawson, and robinson can all create on their own

Nuggets best chance will be the 11th seed and nothing higher than that.

Mozgov is the starting C. Just an FYI.

Apparently they Cavaliers have contacted the Nuggets on 3 separate occasions on obtaining Mozgov. They've been turned out as far as offers all three times. For good reason.

I think he only started cuz of Mcgee injury.
If Mcgee wasnt so goofy these past seasons he had a big potential of being a great defensive anchor.

Everyone has forgotten about George Karl's Nuggets in 2012/2013..

Who had the best home record in the NBA with 38-3.
3rd in the "stacked West".
Coach of the Year.
Bombed out because they lost Gallinari for the Playoffs. Which by the way, was HUGE. Absolutely vital.

People really have short memories around here. Now they have all these players back.

The biggest problem for the Nuggets is Brian Shaw..
