Uh...

In preparation for Halloween I try to start a horror movie thread.

But sadly they fail :(

I would like to start another one this season. I'd like this to be a separate 'Rate the last movie you watched' thread spinoff 'Horror Movie Edition'.

We recommend and review horror movies, tv shows and post them here.

Anybody interested?

Or will this be another failure like my attempt to do, well... everything :(

The 1983 version of The Woman in Black. It is not a normal scary movie, it only has about 2-3 scary scenes, but the tension and one special scene are worth it.

Thanks, I'll try to watch it.

To start this journey I'd like to start things off with a John Carpenter short film. This is one of his entries into the Masters of Horror series titled 'Cigarette Burns'.

It's a tension filled dark surreal film starring our fav hillbilly Darrel from Walking Dead.

Another favorite from the Masters of Horror series is this classic from Takashi Miike 'Imprint'. This one is shot beautifully, almost like watching a painting unfold in front of you. But be warned... it has some scenes that may be hard to watch for some.

What Jeepers Creepers could've and should've been.

For suggestions I pretty much own all the scream factory collector editions on Blu-Ray and I've enjoyed pretty much every one. Here's how I'd rank some of the ones I've watched the past few months.

Night of the Comet
Night of the Demons
They Live
Terror Train
Body Bags
Deadly Blessing
The Funhouse
Motel Hell
Assault on Precinct 13
The Howling
The Burning
Ginger Snaps
Lake Placid
Day of the Dead
Prince of Darkness
From Beyond
The Fog

All 7's or above for me. Not much separation if any between movies like The Fog and The Howling. Some of them like Night Of the Comet aren't that scary more just like cheesy comedic 80's movies with horror elements. John Carpenter, Tobe Hooper, Wes Craven, Joe Dante, Romero plus tons of big horror actors in there. Mostly 80's stuff except for Ginger Snaps, Body Bags & Lake Placid.

I gave it a 6 I think. Really good isolation horror. Not really the same but the setting/situation makes it feel similar to something like Frozen/ATM. The guy from Boardwalk Empire is really good in it.

I've seen most of those years ago, will def go back and revisit. I've gone back to revisit some films and they were different than what I remembered. Hopefully they live up to what I remember.

I love them my favorite type of movies. Watching them on Blu-Ray with great transfers deff helps too + some neat special features. Some of them still have there issues but for the most part look pretty good.

Sinister is pretty good.

I loved Begotten however it's not for everyone.
