Larry Bird scored 24 of his game-high 33 points to lead a first-half runaway tonight and lead the Boston Celtics to a 123-97 rout of the famous 198''fo'fo'fo'' Philadephia 76ers team.
Bird made 9 of 14 field-goal attempts and grabbed eight rebounds in the first half when the Celtics, behind 54 percent shooting and a 32-16 rebounding edge, moved to a 68-53 lead. Philadelphia never got closer than 15 points.
Bird finished the game with 33 points and 14 rebounds on 13/21 FG.
