I'm Mexican but people mistake me for Italian/Greek or French, guess I don't have enough Amerindian for they're liking. I'm fair skinned with dark brown eyes and hair. Growing up, people thought my parents were a interracial couple. My Dad was light skinned, had dark curly hair and spoke with a Hispanic accent and my Mom was white with dark blonde hair and blue eyes but she was Mexican too. My great grandparents on her side were Spaniards, she hardly spoke English and folks wouldn't/couldn't believe she was Mexican :oldlol:

We used to get disapproving stares by white folks all the time. This was back in the late 70's/80's growing up in Chicago, interracial couples weren't as accepted as today. Funny thing is they weren't an interracial couple but since my Mom could pass as an Anglo :lol I have all the colors of the rainbow in my family, some look like your typical Latino to cousins who people believe are white, technically they are white but they're Mexican, too.

The funny thing is most people in the US think all Mexicans look Amerindian, if you travel to Mexico, you'll see lot's of Mexicans with more European ancestry than Native blood, especially in the Northern states. Most people from south of the border who imigrated here were poor peasants of more indigenous stock, which is what the stereotypical Chicano look is, a mestizo.

i'm muzzie but my grandpa (on dad's side) looks flat out European white and my mom looks more Koreanish so i can pass for Filipino, Rican, Arab, Light Skinned Black, Indian (both red dot and feather), even Sicilian in teh winter.

i think Africans need some leeway when it comes to people thinking they are some uniform community. they've got big variation too. that kid is unlikely to have less that 50% euro DNA.

than their Kid will be 25% Ethnicity A and 75% Ethnicity B

And is likely to look like Ethnicity B

I've been mistaken for lots of things. Black, white, hispanic (puerto rican, dominican, colombian, etc), Filipino, Muslim? (when I grew a beard and facial hair back in college), and other stuff. People wonder what I'm. I'm actually hispanic, but my mixture is a little different. I'm mixed with European (German, Swede, probably Bristish), Black (slaves brought to the Carribean Basin), and Indigenous. One co-worker told me once that one day all people will look like me..everyone will be mixed someday.
