HANDS DOWN BEST player of the tournament thus far, no question. Need I remind anyone that FIBA is way tougher than the NBA reg season game? FIBA is a contest of the ELITES, best of the best, no scrubs.

Through 3 games Goran Dragic is shooting 70.6% from the field and 54.5% from 3 while putting up 20 pts per game in only 26 minutes.

He's averaging 20.3 PPG, 3.3 RPG and 4.7 APG. In only 26 minutes of action per night. Convert those into per 36 minute stats, and you get 28.1 PPG, 4.6 RPG and 6.5 APG. Best of all? He's shooting 70.6% from the field and 54.5% from deep. He's straight-up dominating.

You took my quote out of context idiot. I said NBA REGULAR SEASON GAME.

Reg season is almost like a friendly FIBA game in terms of competition and talent.

FIBA = BEST of the country aka All-Star calibre player roster

Regular season NBA = star players with shit benches and role players.

Maybe that outside of team USA 80-90% of the players in the tourney couldn't make the NBA?

Too many NBA and international missing stars. The tournament quality worsened this year and Dragic is among the best remaining players.

I agree FIBA basketball is better competition than the regular season NBA.

The only reason it doesn't seem competitive, is because team USA has a team full of stars.

A regular team in the NBA would lose in this FIBA tournament, no question.

So you're telling me that you'd rather watch the one sided FIBA games with teams that don't belong against other teams than watch just about any game in the Western conference?

You can argue that there are blowouts in the regular season but are those not more entertaining with oops and other spectacular plays compared to a bad team playing like chickens with their heads cut off? There are real fun games with FIBA but let's not act like every game is a classic and just because every team is the best of their country they're great. Some NBA benches are better than some of the countries teams in this tournament...

Anyways, I'd argue Gasol has been better so far and the only reason his stats fell is because he's played less minutes. Won't shortchange Dragic though, he's been good.

OP is correct that a lot of FIBA games are tougher than NBA regular season games. Playoffs is another matter of course...

It's not just the competition, Dragic is a beast and is just entering his prime. He plays in a crowded backcourt (might be fixed with a trade), but he's an all-NBA candidate next year.

Look up Dragics shotchart. He shoots the highest fieldgoal percentage at the rim for PGs.

Its why he shot over 50 percent.

There is a reason Dragic is doing so good. He is a solid NBA player and has the ability to dominate inferior competition.

Last Season Dragic made 122 3ptointers on 299 attempts or 40.8%

Curry is by far more productive and more efficient shooter. GTFO

Not the majority of FIBA games, games between top 10 countries are tougher and more intense than a Wolves vs Hawks game though. In case USA and Spain meet in the semis or finals I'd say that would qualify on par with a PO first round match-up.

Just curious, if all of you think FIBA is weak competition, why aren't USA guards putting even remotely similar stats?

Why is not one single USA player putting similar stats to the NBA PER MINUTE? Besides Davis, and even then.

Even if you added Harden, Curry and Irving's averages, Dragic is owning them.

Cause Dragic has to carry his team while US is LOADED with talent.

I'm still missing the point then, aren't NBA teams loaded with talent?

Dragic just has incredibly better fundamentals, don't look for scape goats. USA doesn't need to learn the game when they can just run the game by running and jumping in the game.

If Harden was asked to run a team, his IQ would only allow to run ISO after ISO pick and roll after pick and roll. He doesn't even have an answer for zone.

Fact remains, tactically speaking, they're lagging behind, but they don't need to sit and learn plays when they can win games by ISO and counters. I get that, nothing wrong with it.
