Im more shocked with Long Beach since crime rate now over there is pretty average.

A lot of affluent people are starting to move into Long Beach plus in all bluntness, the Mexicans have been pushing the blacks out of Long Beach and Compton, and crime has dropped dramatically. At the same time, wealthy Latinos, whites and Asians have started to turn former Latino barrios like Echo Park and Silverlake, into yuppie and hipster areas. In the last 10 years the amount of crappy neighborhoods in the LA area bought out and transformed into decent areas is amazing.
