And people wonder why the Lakers have an absurd amount of nationally televised games.

I'm certain Kobe has done it before to actual "home" crowds with his performances, but this is a pretty poor example. Atlanta over the past few years has notoriously had awful home attendance. When a really big, high profile team/player is in town, it would be very easy for all of the team's fans to buy up the tickets.

All you have to do is look at the crowd. I see as many Lakers fans as Hawks fans in the lower bowl, which means it is probably even more pro-LA in the upper portion of the arena.

Also, Lakers fans are everywhere, Kobe or no Kobe. It'll be that way after Kobe retires.

Crowd goes CRAZY during the and1 at :35... and of course the end. They might be cheering as loud there as MSG ever did.

The Chicago cubs do that now as one of the worst teams in baseball. Why? Because there's that many millions of cubs fans. Gay crushes aside it's sad that so many Kobe lovers can't see the reality that Kobe didn't build the lakers brand, he's just the top star right now. In 10 years the lakers will be a top road draw all over the country.

Kobe is the most polarizing man in the history of the NBA.

You just can't turn away.

It wasn't as crazy as Kobe's but I still felt this game was overlooked. This was also the game that got overshadowed by Kobe's 81 points soon after.
