View Full Version : Lets Be Real, Cleveland is Going to Tear the East Apart

SilkkTheShocker
09-04-2014, 10:05 AM
It's not going be pretty either. What team can possibly beat them or give them a battle? The Cavs signing LeBron alone won them the East. And that was before they even traded for Love, signed Miller, Marion, etc. After winning the East, they will get to play the soft team that wins the West. Spurs don't have the ability to repeat, so they won't be there either. And lets be real, when Cleveland wins it all, its going to be because of LeBron. He is the one that put this together. Cleveland would still be comically irrelevant if it weren't for him. He all by himself made one of the least desired free agent destinations become a hot spot

Wow that's disappointing for real Cleveland fans. As we all know, usually the exact opposite of your predictions comes true. So I'm kinda surprised, had the Cavs as one of the favorites this season. Well, maybe next year.

What's going on with Ray Allen? Who is the favorite to sign him now?

He looked like he was done last year, but maybe he can play one more season if he's not getting heavy minutes.

outside of the Mavs and somewhat to the Pistons titles in 2004...there hasn't been championship team that wasn't "stacked" to some degree. this is, and has been the route/receipe for a VERY long time

Bulls -MJ/Pip/Worm and kerr, kukoc, etc
Rockets - Dream/Drex and cassell, ellie, horry
Spurs - Admiral/TD/Elliot and ellie, avery, kerr
Lakers - Shaq/Kobe and fox, harper, horry, rice

you need to have really good talent to win a title...Cavs are only following what other teams has done, as its guide :confusedshrug:

Outside of LeBron, Kyrie and Love, they really aren't anything special in my eyes. Kyrie usually gets injured so he'll miss some games. Whos their backup, John Lucas III?

Lots of young talent that I don't think will transition well into the playoffs.

Bulls are more well rounded IMO. Raptors are only going to get better and same with the Wizards.

Give me the 2010 Cavs squad over this one, personally.

stop reaching...just because they are deemed favorites, doesn't mean you have to now overate the players because of it. the Cavs did tremendous recruiting this summer...Gilbert's learning from his, and also Mickey Arison's, mistake in keeping a balanced squad together.

It woulda been a sight to see if Lebron woulda played on that Cavs team that had prime Shawn Kemp (the year right before the crack and children took over) and Prime Zydrunas Ilgauskas, prime Bob Sura, prime Derek Anderson, and prime Brevin Knight. Lebron would have easily turned that 1997 Cavs team into title contenders even after Shawn Kemp fell off the year afterwards.

I agree. Cleveland shouldn't have any trouble in the East this year. Pacers went backwards and couldn't even beat the Miami Cavaliers. Bulls aren't ready yet. Rose is still a big question mark. So, it's pretty obvious the Cavs are locked to win the East.

That All Star selection was a pity choice because of his career threatening injury. He was clearly a much better player, and had a lot more hair on his head (and a lot less stress inside of his brain) in the 90s, before that injury.

He is a better player than either of them. You can talk about last year all you want, but Irving was the only one of the 3 playing on a shit team. The narrative of Wall was the same as it was with Irving now. Puts up stats on a losing team. Wall gets some help and they make the playoffs. Irving has no help and he gets the blame. Cavs weren't winning anything regardless during the Jordan era. I remember prime Ron Harper was Jordan's toughest competition at shooting guard not name Joe Dumars, and they still couldn't beat the Bulls in the play-offs. What's sad is that them mid to late 80s/ early 90s Cavs teams were actually just as good as the Bulls on paper. Prime Brad Daugherty should be able to score on Bill Cartwright on every possession, and prime Mark Price should be able to easily dominate the Bulls opposition at point guard, cause Mark Price was easily better than Paxson, Bj Armstrong, Sam Vincent, Kyle Macy, Rory Sparrow etc. None of them mid to late 80s Cavs teams were ****ing with any of them Bulls teams though, and we already know the mid to late 90s Cavs weren't ****ing with the mid to late 90s 72-10, flu game Bulls either which is sad, because that 97-98 Cavs team were underrated as **** when it came to showing highlights on Sportscenter in the mid 90s, because they always used to show highlights of Bob Sura doing a sick ass fast break dunk, or they would show Derek Anderson dunking on somebody str8 out of college, or they used to show Shawn Kemp catching alley oops from Brevin Knight passes, or Big-Z either working his sick post moves before the injuries, or knocking down midrange jumpers with ease, and they would even show Cedric Henderson's sorry ass posterizing somebody. Henderson's rookie year on the Cavs was like his best year in the NBA, and just became sorrier year after year and just fell off.

DukeDelonte13

not denying it. The kid is not a leader and he admitted it himself. It's a knock on him. Can't knock his ability to handle the ball and to score though. He's top notch in that department. He's still only 22 years old, and I think he's far from his prime. He's an exceptional talent, and he has potential to be the best PG in the league.

That's pretty much it. You'd like guys to play to their fullest potential every night regardless of the circumstances, but it's human nature especially for a young, inexperienced player to mail it in occasionally on a bad team.

That was the biggest issue defensively for Kyrie, imo. He has actually looked really damn good with his pressure defense during international play. And since he'll have to carry less of the offensive load with the Cavs now, I expect that to carry over.

Kyrie can be as good as he wants to be. And, I think playing on a contender with LeBron and Love will bring the best out of him. I personally do not think it will even be a question who the best young PG in the league is after this season. We'll see how it goes.

Tristian Thompson, Shawn Marion, Mike Miller, and even John Lucas III, James Jones and Brendan Haywood coming off the bench just makes this team look even scarier. Brendan Haywood kinda sucks, but at least he's a lot better than Joel Anthony coming off the bench.

Sillk back to throw out some shitty predictions as always.

You are a Heat fan anyway. How come you haven't made a thread about "your" squad?

As soon as something doesn't go to your prediction, which will happen, you will hibernate again.

You can't stick by any team, you are a fanboy, its disgraceful but at least we can all laugh at you.

Anyone remember when Sillk would rag on Cleveland, now just like dyck, he can't get Cleveland out of his mouth?

At least ALT acct Lebron frontrunners like you

Nobody thought the bulls were gonna win shit until they went on those crazy winning streaks in that 2010-2011 season. The Bulls made it to the 2nd round in the playoffs without rose. The Cavs broke and NBA rrecord of the most consecutive loses the year they were without lebron

The Cavs lost a lot more than Lebron after that season. But your a fanboy, so its not like we can trust you to be objective when it comes to Lebron.

Then you trash on Rose the hometown kid (remove Chicago from your location, you're an embarrassment). Go look at the Bulls winning percentage w/ and w/ out Derrick Rose……. it's not even close man. Fake ass chi town nicca.

You got a Cavs jersey yet? or still wearing your Heat jersey? Frontrunner like the rest.

He all by himself made one of the least desired free agent destinations become a hot spot

same shiet was said when miami big 3 was formed and look what happened the first year

how far they go will be determined by how well they gel and what system is employed. but they are definitely looking like the heavy favorite now

Another scary thing about this Cavs team is that damn near everyone on the team, from Super Star to Allstars like Lebron, Love,Irving, from starting role players like Waiters, to role playing 6th man like Mike Miller and James Jones, all the way down to rookies like Joe Harris, Alex Kirk, Erik Murphy, and role playing bums like Matthew Dellavedova. They can all knock down wide open three pointers with ease.

Of course adding LeBron is going to change everything. LeBron is going to rid Irving and Love of their reps of gunners on terrible teams. Praise our KING
I would be laughing like krazy if them niguhz don't even make tha damn finals.:lol

Big difference is this that Miami won a championship a few years before Lebron joined the team with Shaq and Wade, and the Cavs never won shit since the beginning of time. Most of Cleveland's basketball legacy before Lebron was basically just a couple of mediorce play-offs teams that only looked good on paper mixed in with a couple of terrible teams throughout most of the 70s, 80s, and 90s teams, mixed in with a bunch of horrible Cavs teams in the late 90s/early 200o up until they drafted Lebron.
