It is sad. Humans are selfish bastards. We shouldn't keep them in zoos either, unless there is a lot of land to roam. Last time I went to the zoo, the two elephants had like an acre at most, and then every morning at 10 they were brought in to do tricks for the visitors. One elephant refused. I'd be pissed and want to stomp a zoo keeper if I was an elephant. Maybe that's why they zoo keepers aren't allowed in the pen with the elephants anymore. Have to guide them from outside the bars.

I agree, only recently have I realised how terrible zoos are. Apparently heaps of animals go crazy and are filled with drugs to keep them "normal".
