Kobe Bryant:

50-32 Portland TrailBlazers
55-27 Sacramento Kings
58-24 San Antonio Spurs
56-26 Philadeplhia 76ers

Averages in the first 3 rounds

31.6 ppg 7.0 rpg 6.2 apg 1.6 spg on 49% shooting

This is Kobe at 22 years old, being the best player in the league in the first 3 series, the worst game in the first 3 rounds was a 22 point 9 assist game on 39% shooting (his worst shooting game of the first 3 rounds).

Averages in the Finals: 25/8/6 on 50%TS, averaged 27/9/6 on 44% shooting in the 4 straight wins.

Kobe ended up leading the 2001 Lakers in winshares and having an equal WS/48 to prime Shaq, at 22 years old.

Wasnt he carried??

Kobe was the leader of that team, especially in the 4th when it mattered most. Kobe was the best wing defender in the world at the time, also.

The first two years of the threepeat Kobe was a monster defender.

Anyone saying he got carried is an idiot.

2001 Kobe is peak Kobe. Still a good defender, 10x the decision maker he was in 06/07, much more athletic than he was in 08/09.

:facepalm The defense was sending 3 and 4 guys at Shaq and basically ignoring Kobe. Any one can put up those scoring numbers with no one guarding them. Kobe will always be known as a guy who was carried to his first 3 rings. Deal with it. :sleeping
