View Full Version : Lebron losing weight is a bad idea....

We already know how nice of a guy he is on the basketball and the intimidation factor was his size and strength. Now with the weight loss, he isn't as intimidating as before.

He doesn't impose his will on others as and now he will no longer impose his physical attributes on people.

That weak body is no longer the strength for that weak mind.

When did LeBron even use strength?? :oldlol:

Did strength make him shoot 40% from 3's in 2013, 38% from 3's this year, and 51% from 3's in the finals?

yes

yes

Why did he need ray allen to take the 3s when he airballed / bricked 2 shots at the end?

He uses his strength to get to the basket. He never did have a quick step. Now without the muscle, I just don't see how he could be effective. He couldn't even drive against Diaw.

No more bulldozing and nobody will be afraid of his size in the open court like they did in the past.

That is what the percentages would suggest, and unlike people numbers never lie. In b4 "he only shoots them when he's wide open."
He attempted four 3's per game last season and shot 38 percent. That is elite, period.

Does anyone else think his head looks weird now that he's lost the weight?

Anyways, he's lost the Sammy Sosa head. He's not on the HGH anymore :lol

He has been "elite" or close to elite for at least one full season now, maybe two.

It's a good thing he's lost weight.

For one, it'll help prolong his career due to less stress on his knees (one of the biggest career killers).

It might also bring back some of his explosiveness we saw back in 2007-2010.

He has a stronger mind than us though :/

None of us could have done so well after the hate from the decision

Yeah he's lost a TON of muscle. He won't get into the paint this year. 41% FG. Book it.

When has losing weight, for an aging star, been a bad idea? I think the opposite is true.

Flopping should get him to the line more in a smaller frame.

lebron aint old enough to lose any strength yet. being thinner is just going to make him alot faster. i think thats the point with his young team.

Whats with 9erempiree and Lebron's abs, weight, feet, pecs, triceps, hams threads and all that? :biggums:

Probably a smart idea actually. He can always put it back on. If he can play at a lighter weight should put less stress on his body plus might regain some of that explosiveness.

he's quite good actually..

lebron is a better 3 pt shooter than especially when he's set and spotting up. This myth that lebron only takes wide open 3's has to stop:oldlol: here is breakdown on lebron's 3pt shooting last season. Lebron is beast from 3 guarded or unguared as long as he's on balance.

Why Can LeBron James Shoot Three-Pointers All Of A Sudden?

http://hoopchalk.com/2013/05/29/why-can-lebron-james-shoot-three-pointers-all-of-a-sudden/

and elite spot up shooting:bowdown:

He crushed the rest of the league in PER last season with a 31.7, just shy of his career high. He shot a ridiculous 56.5 percent from the field. He scored more points in the paint per game than anybody else in the league. He dished out more assists than most point guards. He registered a higher rebound rate than Marc Gasol and Robin Lopez. Defensively, he's tall, quick and strong enough to guard just about anyone in the league, and he almost did.

And if all that wasn't enough, consider this: He now wields one of the most potent jumpers in the league. Only Jose Calderon averaged more points per spot-up play than James, according to Synergy Sports.

Most efficient spot-up players, 2012-13 regular season(Min. 100 plays)

Player Plays Points PPP
Jose Calderon 187 281 1.50
LeBron James 143 195 1.36
Kyle Korver 224 301 1.34
Steve Nash 114 153 1.32
Stephen Curry 226 294 1.30

James' name pops up near the top of all the jump-shot leaderboards for last season. And that includes the unguarded catch-and-shoot category, in which he effectively shot 73.1 percent once you account for the added value of 3s. Only five players were more lethal with open shots. While he couldn't find his shot in the Finals until the very end, he ended up converting 37.5 percent of his 3s in the postseason, which is well above average. (For perspective, Kevin Durant shot 31.3 percent from deep in the playoffs.)

Its worked for other guys liked Duncan, Kobe etc, however they never had as much muscle or were as reliant on it as Bron.

Some people say that when Roy Jones Jr stripped off the muscle and weight at his age coming down from heavyweight it really contributed to his sharp decline. People were saying that for someone of Jones' style and athleticism his body didn't react well to it. Whether or not this actually holds any weight or not ,there are a few parallels with Lebron.

lebron is still going to be strong/big. It's not like he's going back to his rookie year frame where even at that size he was a tank:oldlol:

As someone that use to bodybuild, Lebron should get off that no-carb diet and eat some damn carbs.

Carbs releases a huge amount of energy. He looks less explosive and tired.

No surprise that he has looked like shit.

yeah I have to agree .. is he really still doing a no carb diet during the season ? .. I find it hard to believe .. that would be pretty dumb

pretty sure Lebron was saying the no carb diet was only for like 60 some days during the offseason. Hes not doing it during the regular season

If four 3's a game @ 38%, most of them assisted, is elite, then what's 8 3's a game @ 42%, most of them off the dribble?
