I only did JV and Varsity track (i was a very inactive member though to be honest, i only used it to get in shaped, never did a track meet). I tried out for tennis. First time I had a tendon injury and got cut. Second time, my mile time was only 30 seconds longer than their requirements :facepalm despite the fact I was listed in the top 1/2 of players on "tennis skill."
I regret not playing football (our team was horrible but it was a walk on team and usually was a quick way to get popular).
I didn't play basketball because we were quite a powerhouse in our county and it was a very hard team to even make. I know of really good ballers who couldn't even make the 12 man roster.
I always thought about either soccer or baseball but I just never bothered. The requirements for soccer was pretty much as long as you ran a certain amount during the tryouts, you were in. But I also didn't like running that much so I didn't do it. To be honest, I only continually did track because the coach didn't really care if you came to practice and the girls lacrosse team practiced right next to us and the best looking girls from my grade were in it. :D

Played basketball since Grade 7 Middle School. Played varsity my freshman year, jv my sophomore, then back to the varsity team my last two years. MVP of team grad year. Kind of a unique, fun ride. Small school, graduation class of like 30. Definitely a fun experience.
I also played Soccer my grad year (sucked at it), and did Track & Field my grad year as well, High jump, Long jump, & Relay. Didn't give a f*ck about that, did the whole competition in my LeBron VI's :oldlol:. I had originally planned on playing every sport my school offered but bailed on baseball and volleyball, f*ck that.

I was an athlete and could have made any team but I did basketball and badminton because they were my two best. Plus I was in Kenpo and competing there.

Just XC and Track,
I wish I could have tried football, would have been a decent WR.

I only played basketball. In hindsight I kind of wish I would have stayed with soccer through high school but I opted to focus on one sport. I think I was kind of worried about how well I'd be able to hang in soccer. I suppose things worked out fine enough anyway.
How do those sports not have conflicting seasons? In Cali mens basketball and soccer are both winter and mens tennis is spring. I know in some colder states soccer is pushed to spring.
Or did you forgo one of the sports for another? That is interesting. I did not realize California had soccer in the winter. I think Michigan might be men's soccer in Fall (too snowy and cold in winter), basketball in winter, and men's tennis in Spring (when it's warmer again). I think.

Tiny bit of overlap but not like in Cali. We have soccer in the fall, starting even before school starts. Like Rake said it's the same in Wisconsin, just too cold/snowy for winter outdoor soccer. Basketball is during winter and into the next year. Tennis is spring here as well.
I did Soccer freshman and sophomore year, stopped after that.

I just ran cross country all four years. Went to a school with 2000+ students, so obviously the main sports like basketball and football were damn near impossible to get on. :lol Even the JV teams. We've had some players make it into pro sports from my school district. One kid I graduated with (Joseph Randle) was actually starting for the Cowboys at RB last year when Demarco Murry got hurt. I'm sure you guys have all heard of Barry Sanders. He went to one of our rival schools.

Basketball all four years and into college.
Football as a Frosh but I got hurt, then came back as a senior to try and help for a title. We finished 10 and 3.
Baseball as a Frosh and Soph.
And Track as a junior, mostly to hang out with friends at meets and stay in shape after basketball season. I was in the relay, and was a really good miler but we had an all state kid on team. Did some long and high jump. I was constantly tweaking something or another, and my coach used to say I'd make a great shot put catcher.

We didn't have men's volleyball when I was in HS, but I always enjoyed the hell out of it and thought it was something I could've been really good at.
And the few schools that did have it, usually the catholic schools, it overlapped with basketball season, which always seemed dumb. And now I believe the season has been moved to free up some scheduling with the gyms.

Not one. I played a lot of soccer and was on club teams around the area, but never really cared enough to try out for my hs team. I was friends with the coach and all, he said I could walk onto the varsity team and start at defensive mid right away, but I was too lazy to go get my physical on time :oldlol:
Tried out for basketball once and was cut for whatever reason, I still don't understand it. I had a great tryout and won all 3 games they put me in (1v1, 2v2, 5v5), yet that wasn't enough for that bitch ass coach :lol Oh well.

I was part of mathletes in middle school. Everyone else in that club went to an ivy (or got into one) by senior year, i felt so dumb around them :applause:
I was either playing, watching or dreaming basketball 24-7 (literally speaking), no time or energy for anything else. :P

0. I had my feel playing baseball and soccer growing up. I almost joined the wrestling team freshman year, but these clowns practiced so much and I wasn't down with that.

In CT we did Football / Soccer in the fall, Wrestling / Basketball in the winter, Tennis / Baseball / Track in the Spring.
At least that's how it was when I was in school.

How come?
My city has three high schools: the gigantic public high school, the small Catholic college-prep high school and a medium-sized vocational/technical high school. My brother and I were the first on our side of the family to actually be shoo-in's for college. I wanted to attend the public high school 1.) because all my friends would be there and 2.) it had three seasons of sports to keep busy with. My folks felt that if I went to the public high school with my other athlete buddies, I would somehow morph from a relatively normal person into a raging hooligan and career criminal. Thus, I ended up at the Catholic school.
