Just watched it. I must say it was alright but Ralph Macchio is no Jaden Smith acting wise. I'd give it a 6/10

IMO they're flat out different movies.


They share the same elements but just not the same movie.


They used the title and said "remake" for a cash grab.

They weren't even doing Karate in the new karate kid. The only good thing about that movie was Jackie Chan.
