Depends on:

1) How good the defenses each played were
2) How well each of the two played defensively
3) How close the games were in the 4th quarters
4) How many minutes each played in 4th quarters, and how many turnovers they had

Both didnt shoot so well....

One did get more rebounds & assists while the other got a bit more of FTs....

I hope you see my agenda with this thread.... its aimed towards Kobe fans mostly (dont make me bring up his 2000 finals stats or 2004 Finals 4th qtr stats), everybody had a bad Finals.... Even the almighty Michael Jordan himself, dont be blinded by his 27-30 FGA.... shooting that much ofcourse he would get his points no matter how bad he shot...... but missing many shots is wasted possessions which you could have used to create a more efficient shot instead for your teammates or for yourself.... you can find his bad games in Finals mostly from the 2nd 3-peat....

depends on when player A hit his shots

just looking at a box score is dumb and for retards like OP and other bran stans

player A could go 0 for 3 up until the last 10 seconds of the game. then hit the game winner and be 1 for 4

then player B could have 1 or 2 meaningless rebounds early in the 4th quarter. and miss his few attempts at the end

IMO its all circumstantial

i think kobes record in game 7's is pretty good actually. and kobe has one of the all time greatest game 7's in nba history ( 2000 vs portland, 15 down in the 4th q, 25 points, 11 rebounds, 7 assists, 4 blocks.... with shaq stinkin it up all game )

Shaq with 18 points and 9 rebounds :oldlol:

Phil telling the Lakers to "forget about Shaq" before they made the huge comeback

Kobe also did damn well 2002 WCF Game 7

30 pts 10 reb 7 ast (0 TOV) 2 stl in an OT game, 0 turnovers in 52 minutes of play , made FTs to ice the game in OT, highest ORTG among all starters

Really, the only "bad" Game 7 Kobe had was in 2006, but the Lakers had no business even winning 3 games in that series and they were on the verge of winning in Game 6 with Kobe being clutch as usual, but his teammates let him down and Game 7 was a blowout loss..

Kobe's 5/6 in Game 7s, 4/4 when Lakers had HCA and 1/2 without...

27.5/10.5/7 in the two Game 7s with Shaq

Suns 06 he shot well but the team got blown out so he was obviously mad(who wouldn't be after that Game 6) and didn't shoot for an entire half to make a point

Rockets 09 was a blowout win and he only had to play 33 mins, only took 12 shots that game as well

Celtics 10 he shot like crap, but did other things well (rebounding, defense) and hit clutch FTs that helped ice the game

Nuggets Game 7 in 2012 was a blowout win as well and his teammates were doing well, so he kept feeding them and finished with 17 pts 8 assists

Overall, Kobe won every Game 7 he was expected to win, so you can't do anything but cherrypick on some of his stats, but 22/8/5 isn't that bad considering that some of the games were blowouts. 3 out of 6 Game 7s, he dropped at least 20 pts & 10 rebounds.

4 out of his 5 titles, he faced a Game 7, and in those Game 7s he averaged 23/11/5, you take out the one-sided Game 7 against Houston (the series had no business going 7 games anyways with Yao and T-Mac out), he averaged 26/12/5...

Now tell me again how Kobe's a bad Game 7 player, when he won every Game 7 besides one on the road against a much better team (in which he actually shot 50%)

Got it, i seemed to have watched quarter 3 play-by-play on G2 or something. I did some wrong with Lebron's aswell, fixed.
This did some good for Kobe's FG% but unfortunately bad aswell as now he has even less assists/rebounds.

not like he normally has more rebounds and assists than lebron anyway, i'm not sure why that would hurt Kobe's performance.

I don't even blame LeBron for 11 as much as I credit the Mavs, but Kobe was not a shitty player in the 08 Finals. That Celtics defense is one of (if not the) best ever, and Kobe wasn't far removed from his peak. Just went up against a superior squad.

If you're going to start a thread like this, why not go with the 04 Pistons? Makes more sense too, since LeBron was 26 at that point, and Kobe turned 26 the summer after.

Good lord, fpliii destroyed this thread. Everything pauk said is backfiring. Not only was Kobe far more efficient, he nearly had the same amount of assists despite Lebron "deferring to a hot Wade."
