Which is odd, because I haven't even thought about 9/11. In fact, my only thought about it in the last few days was, ''Wow, I haven't even thought about 9/11. Can't believe it's already been 3 years since the 10 year anniversary.''
Anyway, I am at some sort of outdoor gathering. If you have ever been to woodstock, it is like that. People are set up with tents, their cars, all hanging out with their family and eating food. Then, Eminem (the rapper) starts using meth and causes a gigantic panic. A bunch of cars are stolen, including mine, and we all become trapped at this gathering. (Dream logic- we could have easily walked away, but it just seemed we were trapped and couldn't leave.)
I decide to walk to the exit to get to my car. I have some Magic cards and other things in there for entertainment, I am just hoping nobody looted them. I walk to the exit with my brother, through a tunnel. When we reach the end of the tunnel, I look up and see dozens of planes flying really low. I ask my brother if there is an airport nearby. He says yeah, but then I realize one of the planes crashed into a nearby building. I am like HOLY CRAP RUN BACK IN THE TUNNEL!
Then another plane crashes, closer to us. White ashes and fire explode from the ground. Then another crashes, and another. Finally, they are crashing on the tunnel as we try to run away. Rubble and rock pieces are raining down from above us. We are most likely dead. Then I woke up.
Maybe I still have some unresolved fears from 9/11. I was only 13 at the time. It was really scary but I also didn't understand it very much. At first I thought those planes crashed accidentally. I was more scared when George Bush said we were going to invade Iraq. My only images of war were World War 2 and Vietnam, mandatory drafts and such. I was worried my older family members would have to fight.
Anyway, that is why I am awake at 6 am and cannot fall back asleep. A couple more hours of sleep would have been nice. Sigh.
