"I don't condone hittin women or think it's coo BUT if SHE ain't trippin then I ain't trippin.. Lets keep it movin lol let that man play!"
"I get it tho NFL.. You just don't hit women!"
"If you in a relationship and a woman hit you first and attacking YOU.. Then you obviously ain't beatin HER. Homie made A bad choice! #StayUp"
On the radio they're acting like the Pacers are going to lose all kinds of season tickets and sponsors for a tweet. What a joke. Nobody cares about this Rice thing other than ESPN and feminists. I've literally never had a conversation about the Rice incident with anyone in real life, just on the internet. Not my girlfriend who I live with, not my friends, nobody, because nobody cares about it.
Act like someone is going to give up a season ticket because of a PG tweet? Radio dude acts like he just kicked a puppy.

I don't know that George making idiotic tweets will hurt Indy financially but he should be smart enough to know that now is not the time to attempt anything that anyone could interpret as defending Rice's actions. It's just a dumb thing to do for anyone in the public eye.

Just saw this on the local news. It was a bit insensitive but that not that serious. He did apology several times apparently with some statements he just put out, something to the effect that he apologizes to all the victims of domestic abuse and that he apologizes for his insensitive tweets. Something like that.....

I would agree. We're not going to see him play for a number of months anyhow. By the time he gets back to the court people won't be thinking about this so much, he's not the focus of the Rice controversy so it could fade from memory.
he will regret making those tweets

ESPN largely broadcasts what they think people are interested in. They want viewers. People are interested in this scandal and George made the foolish decision to involve himself in this when it was completely unnecessary and to be realistic there was nothing his tweet could do to help Rice's image or whatever it was he was trying to accomplish. So now he's going to get some backlash.
And Larry Bird did come out publicly and say that PG's tweet's were insensitive and they in no way represent the thoughts of the Pacer's organization and that they talked to him about it and he said he understood.
Bird don't play that, lol.....

16 female senators just sent Goodell a letter about the issue. The head of NOW demanded his resignation. Goodell did an interview with Norah O'Donnell for CBS morning news. And that's just off the top of my head. I don't see how anyone can say this isn't huge on the airwaves. ESPN is stuck on it more than most media outlets largely because ESPN is a sports network and this is easily the biggest controversy in sports today. I wish they would diversify myself but whenever something like this goes down this is what happens.

Feminists (which is ironic when you think about equality but it's blasphemy when you hit a woman as opposed to a man) and ESPN.
Didn't I say that in my OP? If not, I said it on a political forum. Those are the only ones who care.
Like I said, I've never spoken in real life to anyone about it. Never heard anyone mention it. Not at work. Not where i play ball twice a week. Not at school. Not at home. Not in any of my four fantasy leagues. Just really odd when its so fascinating but nobody is talking about it except feminists and espn.

16 senators. Yes, they were female. But that's 16 senators. I suppose they were probably feminists. And? A lot of people are feminists. Or just, you know, disapprove of hitting women.
A Goodell interview on CBS morning news with Norah O'Donnell. Is O'Donnell a feminist. I suppose that's possible...but you seem to be on the road towards labeling anyone that talks about domestic violence as a "feminist." I don't approve of domestic violence. I also agree with equal rights. Am I now a feminist? Where is this going?
I would be willing to bet money that if we did a search we would discover that Rice's scandal has been discussed on the vast majority of mainstream news programs as well as being all over sports media on the internet. This is a big deal to people, so it's being discussed.

He made a really great point about the women having the confidence to attack him...
I'm sorry but women in abusive relationships don't spit and hit their man because they know what will come. I'm sure she was shocked when his fat fist hit that ugly dome of hers and she snapped back to reality ----OOOOP----- there goes gravity.

This is definitely the first time Raymond got physical with her and I really have no problem with hit. Classic case of "I don't know my own strength" because it's clear to see it was not his intention to knock her the **** out because the guy barely even swung. We can not live in a society where women feel like they are safe from psychical harm from a man and therefore can do whatever they want out of childlike anger to said man and spit and punch said man without consequence.

Do you not understand that a woman or a child hitting you does exponentially less damage than you swinging at them? As a man your fist is a weapon that could kill someone.
If you really think responding with potentially deadly force to a slap or spit from someone who can't possibly hurt you is appropriate then you're literally not fit for society.

9/11 was exponentially less damaging than our wars in the middle east... Pearl Harbor was exponentially less damaging than us firebombing Japanese cities and ruining their country.
If I spit in The Rocks face, he has every right to hit me Eben though the damage I could do to him is exponentially less than what he can do to me.

That's a completely false equivalence. A girl spitting on you or slapping you does nothing but damage your 'pride'. Pearl Harbor and 9/11 are the equivalent of a girl stabbing you with a pen knife and then you beating her unconscious, which would be fine.

Serious question...
How many times would you let a woman spit and punch you in the face before you physically responded? Keep in kind grabbing her IS assault and would be seen as such by law enforcement. I know, I've dealt with it before as an MP. I think domestic violence is significantly higher among the military (as is alcohol abuse).
So give me a number. 2 spits and 2 punches? 10? Would you let her slug you all night because it doesn't hurt? A real man would let her punch until her arms go tired right?

I would grab her wrists if she wouldn't quit hitting me, and then I would walk out. I realize it's easy for me to say that because I've never been in that situation, but I truly believe that's what I would do.
If I was in some insane situation where we were both locked in a room with no way to escape and she was attacking me? Well I guess in that case I'd have to stop her. Otherwise, you're the man, just leave. Men and women aren't equal and you have the responsibility as a civilized person not to use your fists to make a point.

NOW would disagree with you.
I ask because we took a guy in once who had thrown a firm pillow at his fiance in a drunken rage. She wanted to press charges.
Now I've never been in a heated situation like that, nor do I think I ever will be because at that point I just don't care, but id imagine someone with a short temper wouldn't allow their fiance to continually spit in his face and hit him, which she did.
Would take an awful lot of restraint and I'm not a confrontational kind of guy.

Why exactly does gender have anything to do with it? I get the power differential argument....but that's on a case by case basis...If this were a 300 lb woman knocking out a small man would the outrage be the same? It should be but I doubt it would...
Also, why are people acting so surprised by the video. What exactly did you think happened in there when you saw him dragging her out unconscious?
