I'm 21 and really wish I could go back and do a few things differently especially with some girls I liked. Wish I was more confident  at the time

Heck no. High School was so boring compare to now. But I do miss the days where I had 0 responsibilities...

It's crazy, I have high school friends who live in South America right now and work there. Then a ton of kids who came from my surburban neighborhood and moved to East New York/Harlem/Brooklyn right after graduation and got jobs while going to school.

if youre only 21, youre in prime girl territory right now, anyhow. so just do things differently now
as for your question, no way. high school was fun and easy, but could never reimagine going back. however, college would be fun again. (mainly because that was the time before full time jobs and filled with a lot more drunken/blacked out nights)

High School best time of anyone's life.
Get to see all your friends on a daily basis. Get to see people who you aren't even friends with but know daily.

Only certain parts. No care in the world, sports, you see your friends everyday, parties etc. Other than that, nah.

That's what I do now, heck I was doing that after I turned 21. What's your point?

I appreciate high school for what it was. There's many aspects I do not miss at all (banal homework assignments, for one) but there were also many redeemable qualities as well (fun & awkward development of interpersonal communication skills). I do not think I'd want to do high school over again but then, I don't think missing something necessarily has to mean that one wishes to do it all again.
I have many good memories of high school. I feel fortunate in that regard because I know of many folks who cannot say that.

Always say this when people bring up high school..but college has slapped me in the face and made me realize just how ****ing easy high school was. If I put in 80% of the effort I put in now into school back then, I would've graduated a valedictorian with straight A's.
Senior year was especially bad for me, in terms of giving a shit on a daily basis. The amount of time I wasted smoking pot and sleeping in my car during morning classes is just embarrassing, looking back at it now.

I wish I went to a different high school. Easily the worst four years of my life. Complete and total shit, I was an awkward kid with no social life.

My brother was flunking classes in his last term in senior year and partying a ton. He went to a great school and a great grad school. He has told me he never regretted that year despite our parents ripping him apart about his grades.

:lol I feel like you just described me senior year except I wouldn't call the pot smoking and sleeping embarrassing. Honestly wish I had partied and slacked off even more in high school realizing now that your grades really don't matter till college. Unless you get an awesome scholarship or are trying to get into a really good school that is. Starting in community college and transferring somewhere better after two years sounds good to me.

College life, when you're living in a dorm is better than high school in every way.
I don't miss high school, but I miss my early college years. Classes were easy and I felt like I had no responsibilities.
I was very shy in high school so I guess it would be cool to go back and be more confident but that's the only reason I can think of.

Even though I had my lowest GPA freshman year, I admit the classes were a lot easier than the AP classes I took in high school. But "Freedom" got the best of me, I eventually had a really good spring term but my freshman fall term was pitiful :banghead:. I took two of my classes way too lightly, oh well we learn from our mistakes.

i don't miss it but i'm with you in that i do regret my experience.... even though i wouldn't change it for the world since it might change me in the world in ways i'd rather not contemplate

Don't really regret anything. Had my fun, made mistakes, etc. I do miss how fresh everything was tho. Being a teen is HS is such a unique experience because your life revolves around pretty trivial shit but it all feels so intense and important.

Yeah totally agree there. I finished like 80th in a class of 160 in HS. I even got a C in gym class because my teacher was a douche so I'd just tell him I wasn't going to participate and nap on the bleachers lol.
Ended up actually being valedictorian in my college class because I got interested in learning and gave a shit. Would have been interesting to see my life path if I cared in HS and tried to get into a top tier uni.

Yeah, I could be a little dickhead back in the day. Sometimes I would even bring my gym clothes and he would say "Aren't you gonna get dressed...you're clothes are right there" and I would just say no. Safe to say he wasn't my biggest fan and I wasn't his. I actually saw him at the bar recently and it was a bit awkward.

For my high school gym teachers, if you cut class more than like 3 times meaning you didn't get dressed, you had to make them up after class or fail gym.

Pretty sure mine was just proportional. So if you miss 30% of the classes you get a 70% or somethign like that.

Our high school was crazy. We had freaking quizzes in gym which was like 40% of the grade. So all you needed was a 25% average to pass the class.
Our gym class was P/F but really?!? quizzes :coleman: :coleman:
Some of the gym teachers were cool and let us play basketball for like 1/2 the year. Some others followed a strict curriculum.
I enjoyed my HS experience, but easy no. My mind would have to revert as well in order to deal with obnoxious teenagers.
I'd struggle going back to undergrad even, but those were probably the greatest times.

You were one of those?
Gym class was the only time in school that you could get exercise and have fun, why would you sit out?
The people that were "unable" to change for gym were the lowest of the low at my school, you had the fat girls that didn't want to play and the potheads who were "too cool" to put on shorts. I was embarrassed for them.

lol it wasn't about being cool. I was just a lazy POS. A lot of it had to do with the fact that our gym teacher would make us do some legitimate lifting during class and I didn't feel like it because I had a bball game that night. Not saying I wasn't an asshole but sometimes I felt like just laying down and having a nap.

College is what I miss. I miss being able to hang out with my friends all the time. It seems like as I get older, it's harder to get together with people, even the ones who don't have kids.

I credit high school for helping me develop as a human being. I experienced both the best and worst of high school. When I first started I had no friends and was socially inept. I actually look back and remember some of the things I did and said and realise I was a major douche back then. However my confidence grew through the years and at the tail end of high school I was hitting my peak and having the most fun of my life. It's because of this I feel as if I wasted a few years and my time was cut short.
As high school was drawing to a close I reflected on the past and understood that I'm probably going to miss this. So I really made sure to make the last few months count, almost to the point where I was looking forward to waking up and going to school. So I have no regrets in that regard. I'm not sure I would want to back permanently but if I could just relive a day or even a week just how it used to be, I would love that.
