So I'm looking to buy a new laptop. Price range maybe around $700, $800.

What I'm looking for:

15" to 17"
- Mostly will be using for school, netflix, music, occasional browsing. Want something really light and something that also looks good.

Was thinking about a Macbook but those are so damn expensive and I don't know.

All of that you mentioned can be done in any laptop. I would recommend Asus but heck you can do most of that you mentioned in a chromebook. Not sure if there is a netflix app but I am pretty sure you can just use the chrome browser for that. And they are cheap as heck. You could probably find one for under 100$

If not just buy an Asus if you want a good computer that is not that expensive.

Yes, but they are too expensive for what they do. I recommend Asus or Toshiba for the price. If you spend around $400 you should buy a good one. Just remember to buy one with a good processor (like i7) with at least 8 gb of ram and you should be fine.

Hmm....There are so many options for you, I dont know where to begin. Do you have a brand preference?

MacBooks are out of your price range, but honestly you could find a laptop to suit your minimal needs for 200+ bucks. Id be careful as sometimes people say they want the bare necessities only to later find out they want more processing power, graphical power, applications, etc.

I got a Lenovo Yoga 11 a year ago and it's been great. Good for when I need to work and don't have my work laptop, screen resolution is good for netflix, 2 in 1 capability is convenient and versatile. Not much memory but I don't need it. Screen size prob too small for you tho its only like 13-14.

I just want a good, solid PC that will allow me do what I want. I say something along the lines of 4-6GB of RAM, an i5-i7, and 500 Gs of storage should be enough.

But what do you want? All that you describe could be done by any computer. For example what is your major? because if it is engineering you're gonna need a fast comp with 8+ gb of RAM and a i& processor at least. A HDD is not as important because you can just use an external HDD for files if you need to save up porn for some reason...

I'm a senior in High School bruh. :lol But I'm taking a lot of AP Classes and I find myself doing a lot of documents on the comp itself and integrating e-books and all that shit. I feel like I can get a normal computer and not pay as much, but when I leave for college next year I'll need a solid PC.
