View Full Version : Update on Pauk's Jordan/Kobe Flopping Compliation

Slow but surprisingly well! I mean i am only 26 games in but have 19 flops accumulated (as legit as most of those Lebron "flops"), many more games to go... i expected to watch at least two games per day but that seems to be wishful thinking with my schedule. I can really just finish it a bit earlier if i am to impatient, but then again im not doing this to show you that Jordan flopped, there is a couple of videos out there that show you he did, but im doing this to show you that anybody can look like a big flopper or even the biggest flopper ever and for that i want a bit more content....... :)

By simply watching all/most career games of a player and nitpick for all the flops that player ever did you can make anybody look like a flopper.... trust me on this one, after im done with Jordan you maybe will....

You hear that ISH...? NINETEEN flops accumulated?

It's on it's way boys :pimp:

I have a feeling that once Pauk does release it all the Jordan stans are gonna cry to the mods that Pauk is trolling, and thus the thread will be closed. Jordan stans are even more sensitive than Kobe stans, which is REALLY saying something. :oldlol:

Pauk said kobe and mj flops more than lebron.. That's a tall order to fill. You might think what i'm about to say is a troll but MJ/Kobe were never scrutinized for flopping like Lebron is today. We have kids going around flopping in real life and they call it Lebroning. What the hell is that?

Well there was no social media in Jordan's era, so that explains him not being known as a flopper.
Kobe on the other hand is a verbal flopper. Always screaming out "ayyyy" and flailing his arms whenever a defender is playing defense too well on him. But of course it's not as entertaining and funny to make gifs out of that stuff.

I've never seen Jordan nor Kobe flopping. The gifs of Kobe flopping that I've seen posted here seemed to be legit falling, or tripping, or whatever.

Jordan played in a more physical league, so flopping just wouldn't be as effective in his era.

Want to stop flopping, make the league more physical. It would make it much harder to sell any little contact, thus dramatically reducing it.

Like I said, I've never seen Kobe flopping.

In this flopping era people confuse legitimate reactions, falls as flopping. Many fans have no real sense of all the different ways a body would react if got hit hard and its current position. They have no sense of the reality that the body will try to balance itself through reflexes, depending on their current state of balance. If it's falling, it will fall a proper way to avoid injury.

I mean, some people truly have absolutely no concept at all of balance and reflexes. Perhaps they're fat, never played any sports not even as a hobby. Or perhaps they simply can't visualize how their body would react.

Go into Lebron flopping thread then and defend Lebron the same way you defend Kobe. Half of the flops in there there a legitimate contact at first.

I mean this is considered a flop, where there is pretty hard contact between the players. Yea Lebron flails his arms afterwards and tries to sell the contact but Kobe does this almost after every missed shot aswell

It's a flop because not only did Lebron flail to sell it on his way down, he spent 2 minutes walking around holding his neck, when Chandler's push was to his back. Lebron is built like a tank. Imagine Shaq pulling something like that. It's so over the top. Most of the time, there's no reason for Lebron to even be on the ground.

I've already defended Lebron on that play, over two years ago, because he did get hit hard and some people just couldn't accept that. Though the way he flailed his arm did seem like a flopping reflex, something that perhaps he automatically does to try to draw attention. So I would have picked a better example than that video.

I've gotten hit like that before and the pain is on your neck. It hurts like hell, and I just wanted to know who did it to beat the hell out of them.

if you dont think thats flopping then you are just delusional.

the only part that touched Lebron was his arms, theres no way that could knock him down 5 feet away

we've all been hit with screens before buddy, it seems like youre the one that has no concept of balance

You can't find 1 flop from either Kobe or Jordan that can even come near Bran's top 10 flops.

If you disagree, please go ahead and prove me wrong

And as someone said, if this ever comes out, Pauk will come with his very own new explanation of "what flopping really is".

Actually, he got hit with Isiah's lead elbow on the way up in the sternum, which is what caused him to jerk backwards. Pretty easy to see, especially if you watch it at full size on youtube where he got it from.

When someone says "Find a flop of Jordan/Kobe" I am pretty sure they mean the obvious "head snapping back and body crumbling as if a 50 caliber sniper shot just hit them" kind. Not the falling from obvious contact kind.

Find flops that compare to these.

Against Magic, Jordan should've been called for the block. He stepped in front of Magic as Magic was picking up steam to the basket.

The one against the Hawks?? He doesn't even fall. Wouldn't consider that a flop.

When someone says "Find a flop of Jordan/Kobe" I am pretty sure they mean the obvious "head snapping back and body crumbling as if a 50 caliber sniper shot just hit them" kind. Not the falling from obvious contact kind.

I showed you only 1 "flop" of 19 (those other 3 were from youtube).... and there is much more to come, im only 26 games in.... Dont worry, you wont be disappointed....

Pauk trolling per usual. He understands perfectly well that none of these compare to MOST of the gifs on ISH (not the gifs that idiot Magic32 posted).

Hell, it doesn't even look like Jordan is selling the contact in these (ergo, they're legit).

it's impossible to distinguish between a flop and natural reaction unless you were the player who reacted.

I really don't think it's that hard to do after the fact. In game I can see where it's difficult, and that's why it's effective, but after the fact I find it fairly easy to tell when someone is selling contact that never existed.

Momentum is usually a good indicator.

ballinhun8: An excuse for every single one :biggums:

Nah but srsly, pauk explained this before...

MJ doesn't flop as bad as LeBron. He sells contact more, though... Not exactly more than LeBron, but thats what he did more than flopping.

Btw, I for my part hate it much more to see someone scream on almost every shot (Kobe, it's like a cry out to the refs... "Please, give me the foul, PLEASE!!") Can't stand it.. Sooner or later the Defender gets handcuffed. And Durant is that on roids. Less screaming, a lot more OVERALL ref baiting... Some of it is just due to his skinny Frame and refs protecting his ass. Harden would be the king of the head snap. Kobe flails his arms and screams. Durant does the swing through.

All of this usually results in cheap and wrongly given free throws / points.

LeBron doesn't do any of this, he does something else.. Every 10 games or so he has one of these ugly girly Flops.. He acts the worst, yet at the same time, all it usually results in is a simple foul, he doesn't get anything out of it, which makes it even dumber... Only thing I remember right now where he got FT's out of it was the flop in the '11 finals.

Sure, but as a said before. If I swing at your face or body without touching you, you WOULD react. It's human nature. But people would watch the replay and think you flopped because I never touched you.

I wouldn't think that. I even said in the Jordan "flop" that Pauk posted that the head jerk looks like he was trying to avoid Isiah's elbow. There's quite a few of the Lebron "flops" that get posted around here that I wouldn't consider flops.

LeBron's a flopper, and I hate that about him... It's not what men should do.

Don't deny daaa footage

Dude I am not a Kobe apologist. In that footage he obviously landed on one leg plus he had someone behind his back and the way he landed he didn't have much balance to be able to land straight. Of course you are a retard who is a fanatic of Lebron so you will never accept the truth in order for your delusions to be truth.

He's actually absorving the contact (very important) and trying to draw the offensive foul (I'd call it really good D, Mike Coop used to do that all the time)... Only the last one would even start to qualify as a flop, still LeBron's biggest flops are 1000 times more ridiculous than that, easily...

However.... in this one i struggle to see contact:

http://share.gifyoutube.com/ZP3DR4.gif

I have many more like that where there is zero contact and he acts like he got sniped by the Predator....

...everybody gets caught....

That one is simply Jordan taking his chin out of the way. If his head stayed still he would have gotten elbowed.

Reminds me of what somebody wrote about Jordan's reflex test when he was playing baseball, where he scored higher than anyone that the person who administers the test ever tested. As well as Anderson Silva who amazes me as to how he can determine so well when someone is going to punch him. And Ali.

I do think there are two very distinct classes of "flops" here:

1) Guys trying to exaggerating/sell contact.
2) Guys reacting as if there was contact, when there wasn't.

Every player in league history probably has done (1) at some point. Both suck, but (2) is far worse IMO.

(2) is actually very rare IMO, but once you've done so, it really gives you a reputation as a flopper, even if you don't commit (1) more often as more than other guys do.

It's generally really tough to draw the line between a guy taking a charge and trying to sell a call though.

Exactly.. people don't get pissed when a guy gets hit and exxagerates.. they get pissed when there's literally zero contact and the other guy (usually on offense) acts like he got hit by a train.

theres a fine line between drawing a charge and flopping for a charge.

1)some charges are close but dont cross that line.
2)then there are charges where a player falls down with the slightest bit of contact, as if a light breeze couldve blown them over. im looking at you d. fish and andy v.
3)there are also the kind of flops where there is contact but also a bit extra flopping, jerking and flailing after the contact, as if they got his with a stun gun. manu
4)then there are flops where they're barely touched at all and they put a hilariously disgusting display of sportsmanship. paul

while jordan has walked that line of #1 and has on occasion pushed its limits, lebron has routinely used #3 and #4 in his repetoire.

That's reasonable, but I don't think LeBron or CP3 does 4 as much really. It's just that the times they do pull it off, it's so flagrant and ridiculous, that it stands out a ton. Really hard to forget that shit once you've seen it.
