So am I the only Maiden, Sabbath and AC/DC fan who

likes the singers those groups had who aren't their most famous or popular? I noticed that my favorite AC/DC album, Highway To Hell was with Bon Scott on vocals, I love his music better than with Brian Johnson overall. Don't get me wrong, I love the Johnson era but I prefer the Scott era. Same with Iron Maiden, I love Bruce Dickinson but my absolute favorite Maiden album is Killers with Paul Di'Anno. That was Maiden's GOAT line up IMO. Lastly, I love me some Ozzy but again my favorite Black Sabbath album is Mob Rules with Heaven and Hell a close second. I just rather listen to Ronnie James Dio singing than Ozzy :confusedshrug:

Any other old school metal maniacs feel the same way?

I don't think you're going to find anyone that will agree with you that Bon Scott wasn't their most famous or most popular singer. Personally, I am a Brian Johnson fan as his voice is raspier and stronger, but I have both singers as equals.

Ozzy is overrated as hell and Dio was and will always be better.

It also depends on the age of fans I think, I was a little kid when I bought Highway to Hell right before he passed away and then Back in Black blew up, it was HUGE and I believe still their most selling album. Younger fans tend to be Johnson fans while older fans favor Scott.

I wouldn't call Ozzy a terrible singer BTW but you're right, Dio was a rock god on vocals along with Rob Halford and prime Bruce Dickinson.

Ozzy is the only singer for Black Sabbath. He was dirty in his prime. Ozzy's haunting voice makes Black Sabbath for me, it doesn't seem right without him. I don't give a flying fruck if Dio was a better singer than Ozzy, he's not a better singer for Sabbath. Bon Scott is 50 times the singer Brian Johnson will ever be and is the true lead singer of AC/DC forever and always. As for Maiden, Dianno and Dickinson are a wash to me.
