Why am I always second guessing myself?

A few things I do I always double check that I locked my car or turning on my alarm I check it a few times before actually going to sleep, if I dont I get stressed. It's weird sometimes i dont notice that I'm doing it.

I have a habit of forgetting thing in my pockets like pens, gum, even my wallet one time. Whats weird about it is my dad has the same bad habit. I do leave my wallet in my car sometimes though it's very rare.
