Rockets had a deal in place to sign him and backed out. Thank God.

Not only did the Rockets lose Parsons to the Cuban pill contract, but the Mavs claimed Greg Smith off of waivers also. A player who the Rockets did dirty. Greg Smith was a regular rotation player on the Rockets. They waived him as soon as he got injured. Thats pathetic that the Rockets gave Greg Smith the Josh Howard treatment, because he was easily one of their best post defenders off the bench. (much better than Terrence Jones, and Donatas Motiejunas by far) Greg Smith will stick with this Mavs team because he basically got Brandan Wright's old job as backup pf/c, and Greg Smith is actually a much better player than Wright.:facepalm

The problem was that he got injured way too much and when he played, he was very foul prone.
