LMFAO at Duncan being a 90. Dickriding him so hard just cuz the Spurs just won the finals.

Duncan is a solid 82-85 guy due to age and rust.

Im more confused by Shabazz Napier being rated 74...

Sounds like he got the 'Lebron approval' boost.

Harden, D12, Carmelo, Wade?

As pointed out, WB should be higher and Duncan lower.
I also don't think the gap between Lebron and Durant should be that wide.

Kobe an 89? Which top 3 will be more stacked: Cavs (Bron @ 98, Love @ 89 and Kyrie @ 87), OKC (KD @ 95, Westbrook @ 88 and Ibaka @ 84) or SAS (Duncan @ 90, TP @ 88 and Kawhi @ 85)?

What do you mean again?

How many times has LeBron finished second to him for the scoring title? And he finished second to him in the MVP THIS YEAR.

Oh... and he's finished second THREE times in the finals.

Yeah, go shove that second up your ass you ****ing troll.

He left your team and you STILL defend him like a psycho ex girlfriend. Seek therapy.

Im sure that the developers will realize their mistake when the public outcry becomes so loud they cant sleep at night.

Most arcade iso ball dumbasses won't check out the new way ratings are calculated anyway and cry for no reason because they feel "player a is never better than player b". Same old :sleeping

I actually like the way the ratings are now.

Duncan is about as solid as they come as a PF, really, there are few flaws in his game. I have no problem with him being rated a 90.

It doesn't mean hes the 6th best player in the NBA or whatever, it means, for a PF, hes nearly 'perfect' at what he does.

Im with it.

It's a pretty cool new system. Basically, the only real comparison can be made between players of the same position and identical player type. That's how it should be. Agree about the Duncan example, it doesn't mean he's top 6 or something, but at his specific role (defensive or all around center I guess) he's still awesome.

There is no way you can explain Curry being above Westbrook, especially after these last playoffs. Only thing he does better is shooting. WB is the better rebounder, defender, inside scorer, and has the advantage in every physical category possible. It's like Durant being above Lebron. :confusedshrug:

And Perkins being 74 is just absolutely idiotic, he has no skill or talent in any category. This new system seems random.

Which ratings should be lower?

Though I'm happy the Spurs won...in the finals he averaged 28.2 ppg, 7.8 rpg and 4.0 apg while shooting 57/52/79. Looks like a pretty decent NBA player to me.

And Perkins being 74 is just absolutely idiotic, he has no skill or talent in any category. This new system seems random.I'm still trying to get a feel for the ratings system but I think Dr. Hee is right - it's going to be tough to compare players by overall if they're different positions and roles.

In previous years, the overall was created by one single formula (ex: rebounding attribute raised everyone's overall a little, offensive awareness raised the overall a lot, mid-range shooting raised it a fair amount, etc.). Now, it seems each position and player type has its own formula for creating an overall.

That means, Andre Drummond, likely being labeled as "Big Defensive" (or whatever they want to call it) likely will not have his overall severely punished for not being a great mid-range and three point shooter. In contrast, his rebounding attributes likely heavily affect his overall (and probably blocks and other position and role based skills).

Whereas before, Drummond's overall was capped pretty low because he lacked certain standard skills that he may not even need to be effective, the idea is now his overall may better reflect his importance. Last year, I think Drummond was originally rated in the 70's, but he certainly wasn't a mid-70's guy in terms of team importance and trade value. I think 2K's trying to rectify those types of things (Dirk Nowitzki had a similar issue for years).

Regarding Stephen Curry and Russell Westbrook, I'm guessing Curry is given the player type of something like "Dead-eye shooter" so in that regard, I'd bet his shooting attributes weigh very heavily on his overall. And, being one of the greatest shooters I've ever seen, combined with his pretty great skills in other areas, I can see how his overall came out so high for his particular role and position. Westbrook's requirements may have been a little different, considering his role, and thus may have come up with a super slightly lower overall.

Agreed, and again, they're two different positions and two different types of players.

Poster above said it. Duncan's 'big man' attributes are all solid which is why he's a 90.

The attributes needed by a big man are weighed more heavily for him given his role and skill set than say, his crossover rating.
