Where does ISH go? Heavily moderated or the same Cesspool of Trolls?

I'm still confused.

What exactly are we allowed and not allowed to talk about? What constitutes a ban and what type of trolls will be banned? How many strikes until you are gone for good?

There are guys on here who are clever trolls and often are funny. Do they fall in the ban category?

Is the new hardline approach on bans going to deal with high activity posters like this Dubeta and his alts, even though he's apparently good for business?

There are guys I consider to be "passengers" on this website, no knowledge and purely here to play the rep game. Although not as bad as the obvious trolls, they are not "contributing" to this website. I assume these guys are untouchable, as they fill a need, that being numbers on the website.

Then there are blatant trolls who I get into stupid arguments with. I do that partly for my own enjoyment, but I will engage in mature conversation with the people who are deserving of it.

So my question is, can the Mods or the owners please make a distinct list or guideline as to what we can/can't do on here?

Can the Mods or owners please make a list of posters who are in breach of these new rules and what things they must pay attention to to avoid being permabanned.

They should double the days each time the poster gets banned

1st ban - 1 day
2nd ban - 2 days
3rd ban - 4 days
4th ban - 8 days
5th ban - 16 days

If they get banned a 6th time, it should be perma. Just an idea...

People have personalities, but most people don't have agendas. Only the no life trolls here have the same agenda that they try to spread every day. ISH has the same people posting and we're a tight community. We know who to take serious, who is a troll, who really understands basketball, and so on. You can still have all the humor, sarcasm, and wit while talking about basketball. The problem is the trollls who keep making the same threads over and over again about LeBron, Kobe, MJ, Duncan, ect.

The people with the obvious agendas and the people we all know who trolls. We all know who they are. Give them a permaban and things will clean up nicely.

It's not always clear cut.

Some posters may be close to the edge, so there is a grey area that hasn't been fully explained yet.

There are plenty of posters here who post like idiots, but also post mature too...Depending on the audience.

It was a link to a post an over-the-top abusive post by that user in another thread, which I deleted after banning him. It's pretty clear he was actually trying to get banned, which as I said before is almost what you have to do to have it happen.

Mods have had banning power for about a week now. Have there been any mass bannings or has the site really changed all that much? If you aren't being a total idiot troll, you shouldn't worry.

And he also knew the game, which goes a long way when deciding whether to ban or not. I encourage everyone who posts here to try and balance their fun stuff with actual basketball discussion. It helps weed out the real basketball fans from the posters who are only here to cause trouble and spam the boards.

Not to mention Mods will usually explain what your ban was for, so you can't pretend to be shocked about it, just like RBA did in this very thread.

With that,I actually enjoy the trolls that actually put some thought into their posts and make you think a little bit, as opposed to the quick "one-liner" style trolls.
