So what I've gathered over the years is that Rose gets bashed for;

1. Being injured and resting longer than he should of

2. Dumb statements like "muscle memory"

3. Cheating his SAT tests

4. Stealing an MVP from Lebron



Now, out of those on the list. How do any of them justify the hate and criticism that rose has received over the years?

This isn't a guy who runs his teammates under the bus, disappears for greener pastures, flops in the game, or anything of that sort.

Rose eluded to the fact that he's giving himself an A, based on where he has come from and how little he's played in the last few years. I mean, how do you criticise that?

I think a lot of people have been pleasantly surprised at how much of rose's game and athleticism has come back after all this time away from the game.

Do I agree with his assessment of a grade of A? No. He's gone from injured for two years, to playing for team USA. I think he's done remarkably well.

I don't really care about the numbers. He's looked rusty, but the explosiveness/athleticism is there. So he still has the physical tools to be the top 10 player he was before getting hurt, but now it's up to him to play in games and get back there skill-wise, and hopefully even improve on that.

I don't see why it would not be stats aside, this whole thing was for him to get back into ball and once again prove to himself he's capable of doing things he did in the past. He's proven that, the rest of his game like touch on the jumper/around the rim will come the more he plays.

It's not easy to come back after two years and have good feel (some people do but it's rare). You also can't question his effort on either end at the tourny he's tried hard but it's going to take time.

Good on rose for coming out and representing his country when many others chose not to. I don't think he rates his actual performance that highly, moreso he is glad to be out and competing although some rust is evident.

There's 2 things I realistically want to see this season:
- Rondo to get traded rather than him walk for nothing (as much as I love to see him in a celtics jersey)
-a highly competitive cavs/bulls ECF

The second is a lot more likely if rose is playing like his old self, so best of luck young man.

Rose's biggest problem right now is his decision making. He makes up his mind whether he's going to shoot or pass before the play even develops. If he wants to focus on becoming more of a distributor, he needs to work on his decision making.

That is actually what is encouraging. He isnt going to be chucking 3's in the NBA like that, so his FG% will be more in line with his 45ish average. This alone will make him an allstar if he stays healthy and puts up the 19-21 and 7 he most likely will. Then the haters will just find something else to complain about. It's not like team USA was ever really challenged anyway, so Wall and Lillard were not needed either.

Had any of those players won I would have been fine with it just like I don't have much of an issue with Durant winning it this year. That 2011 vote disgraced the NBAs mvp trophy.

You have posted anti-rose before, so I know your bias. But I will entertain your opinion.

Rose eluded to the fact that he's giving himself an A, based on where he has come from and how little he's played in the last few years. I mean, how do you criticise that?

I think a lot of people have been pleasantly surprised at how much of rose's game and athleticism has come back after all this time away from the game.

Do I agree with his assessment of a grade of A? No. He's gone from injured for two years, to playing for team USA. I think he's done remarkably well.
So an "A" for effort...I'm on board.

However, this knucklehead better stay healthy and come thru for you guys. I'm not a fan of his, but so much hangs on those ankles. I want to see Chicago put the boot to the Cleveland Heat.
