Not just the 90's, the 80's, the 70's, the 60's.

Boxing needs Mayweather-Pacquiao in 2015 and that card needs to be STACKED to make it an event.

Please no Amir Khan in 2015. I want to see Mayweather-Pacquiao for the next 2 fights.

People used to boo and b!tch and complain about Lennox Lewis when he was dominating brawlers with his jab and skillset in the 90s, too. If you want to see guys like Butterbean throw bombs for four rounds before someone is on the canvas with their face smashed in, elite welterweight technicians is probably not something you should be watching in the first place.

As great as Ali was, he has spent the last three decades in a shell, making him unable to speak and barely able to move. The reason is because he was involved in so many wars during his career and he took so many shots to the head. Criticizing a boxer for winning easily and avoiding punishment for 12 rounds just doesn't make sense to me. That is the goal of the sport, after all... to hit and not get hit.

If you aren't entertained by a boxing technician putting on a 12 round clinic, best to stay away from Floyd Mayweather fights. I'm sure there is a Toughman Contest close by that will fill your blood lust.

No I think Amir Khan will e a beast personally in 2015. Mayweather should fight him. Khan has solid punching power, wicket quick, weak jaw and weak defense. Hopefully Freddie Roach fixes that.

If there's a decade I wish I was alive for boxing would be the 1970s Heavyweight division.

Amir Khan is another scrub who Mayweather will cake walk to a UD.

I suspect Pacquiao is fighting Algeri to play it safe and get the W. Mayweather has 2 fights left on his Showtime deal. At this point he needs to maximize his earnings. He can earn upwards of 300 million for just 2 fights against Pacquiao. Mayweather-Pacquiao I and II need to happen in 2015. it's good for everyone in boxing

Boxing is indeed dying if the only fight people wanna see is Floyd vs Manny. :facepalm

At this point in their careers, manny will be easy for floyd. :confusedshrug:

they were booing because he wasn't fighting. no1 wants to see a guy run around the ring for a round cause he has the fight in the bag. Im surprised he actually did that, he should have at least pretended to fight. no need to give haters more ammo

It's not about Mayweather-Pacquiao. Let's face it people want heavyweight fights, BUT boxing needs a huge spectacle right now and that can deliver.

Why do you think Manny will be EASY for Floyd? Floyd's 37, Manny is 35.

I know. I wanted to see some hugging and lovemaking on the ground.

Jon Jones vs Alexander Gusstafon was a better fight then anything boxing has done in the last DECADE

Actually Manny picked the worst high risk, low reward fighter out there. Algieri has 1/2 ft of height on Manny, like 6" of reach, and moves/box very well which has always been Pac's kryptonite.

Dude literally towers over him. And he's not a face first, come forward guy like Margarito either. So Pac and Roach have their work cut out for them.

tbh I've never seen Algieri fight and know very little about him.... why is Manny fighting him again?? this sounds like its gonna tank

he's getting roasted on social media tonight...

some of the comments are pretty funny but they all center around the same thing.. he's just not an entertaining fighter to watch and folks are tired of paying their hard earned cash to watch boring fights

Well, the era of great heavyweights is gone. Pac maybe younger but judging from his previous fights, he lost a lot of his speed and stamina. Floyd's defensive style will be too much for him to handle without his explosiveness and limitless stamina. :confusedshrug:

Arum loves that guy for some random reason. And it's going to bomb big time on US PPV but they're banking on the new Chinese PPV market and the Venetian pays out massive site fees (They paid $8 mil for the Rios sparring match), so Arum is focused on the Eastern market entirely.

And Algieri beat Provodnikov, who was being set up for a Pac fight, in a huge upset after getting blitzed early.

ahh makes sense i guess. the china ppv numbers are never good anyway so this wont be different. hope fighting less attractive fights in macau doesn't become the norm for him
