To think that Stockton gave GP more trouble than MJ, really shows how fans knows very little compared to real players who went against the GOATs.

Seeing as how Payton was a PG and Stockton was a PG, and both played in the Western Conference against each other most of their careers, I'm gonna register this under "No shit, Sherlock".

Payton rarely guarded MJ. It was mostly the Sonics' other SG's Hersey Hawkins or Nate McMillian that guarded him.

Nice try doe, son.

Clearly this means Stockton was a better offensive player then Jordan.

Jordan was an iso 1 v 1 player, which was GP's strength
Stockton would run you off a million screens, that's tiring for a PG and very

frustrating especially is the PG is very crafty at utilizing the picks and he has a picks who his widebodied and knows how to set good solid screens

Stockton/Malone's pick and roll game neutralized GP's handchecking and crowding style of defense

I made a thread the other day saying how overstated the effect of handchecking guards would be in this era given the amount of pick and roll that's ran.

Of course the "80's/90's is the supreme era" contingent made their same clich

I thought he was also. Stockton and Jordan were pretty comparable cept for the playmaking and FTS.
