We going by peak or overall career?
T-Mac too low. Should be right behind KD, if not one spot ahead.

Allen over AI & Kidd?
Kidd is a good call. He was a great defender and passer but a pretty lousy scorer and very inefficient. He has more intangibles than Allen though.
I personally don't rate AI much. Below average on defense, a headcase, inefficient. I think I'd rather have Allen on my team from 00-10 than AI, in part because Allen is more solid and also because AI faded to irrelevancy.
I'd have to reconsider Kidd though. I always seem to forget him.

One of my all-time favorite players to watch. T-Mac was as talented as anyone to ever play.
There was a time where you could legitimately argue Kobe vs. T-Mac.

Kidd dragged equally bad teams as Duncan to the finals.. led nets past dominant pistons multiple times.. routinely owned pierces celtics..had his team up 3-2 on the 2004 best version pistons while Duncan struggled against a slightly worse pistons team a year later while having more help.
Kidds real underrated.. Pierce and Allen and Iverson have no case.. the fact that Melo gets mentions and kidd doesn't is sad

Tmac is my favorite NBA player ever. I'd easily put him tier 1 based on his days with Orlando but injuries really screwed him. At his best he stands up to any of these guys though.

Results need to be weighed equally with stats. Kidd's teams overachieved, and that has a lot to do with his leadership. But if you gave him even an slightly better roster and put him out West, he'd be out in the second round every year.
Just look at that Pistons series. His team was leading 3-2, but in those first 5 games he put up 12/7/9 on 30% shooting. Superstars don't do that. That's why he'd be 9th or 10th at best on this kind of list. :confusedshrug:

I slightly disagree with your placement. I'd have him at 6ish.. he was way better in the playoffs than tmac ever was.. better than pierce.. better than AI.. his results speak for themselves.
2004 his numbers werent great but youre talking about a series where every game was ending 70 something to 60 something.. extremely low scoring, physical defensive battles.
Hell, in 2003 against another good piston team Kidd dropped 24/10/6.. the 10 was rebounds.. for a point guard to lead his team in rebounds in a series with ben wallace and detroit.. its unheard of. And of course not nearly as appreciated as say a 25 ppg average from tmac despite being just as impressive and impactful. He was a triple double machine routinely having series of 9-10 assists and 9-10 rebounds per game with elite defense and playmaking and a complimentary 15+ ppg or so.
AI tmac VC melo are all flash.. they were not as impactful as Jason Kidd and certainly couldnt lead a team anywhere close to as good as he could. Guess well just have to agree to disagree.

Kidd is criminally underrated, mostly by novices who base impact on field goal percentage.
To be expected, though.

I like Kidd a ton. One of the few PGs who can defend multiple positions at a high level.
Probably an unpopular opinion on here, but I'd take him over Nash.

What exactly has Vince done to merit a higher career ranking than Durant?
Durant simply hasn't played in the L long enough to warrant having a better career than Vince. Vince was a great player for a long ass time. I know Durant has accomplished a lot in his time in the L. But still longevity counts for SOMETHING and Durant is only 25 years. Vince is also the greatest dunker of all time, has over 23,000 points, and shined in the Golden Era of SG's. However Durant will pass Carter soon with the pace that he's on.

Definitely Kidd over Nash. Nash was always a creampuff on defense, he would get schooled by Bibby in the playoffs back in the day. His offense is goat-worthy, but defense is 50% of the game.
