The Houston TV station reported the mother of the 4-year-old -- from a different mother than the child he stands charged with abusing -- filed a report with Child Protective Services but no charges have been filed.
The text exchange was as follows, according to KHOU-TV:
Mother: "What happened to his head?"
Peterson: "Hit his head on the Carseat."
Mother: "How does that happen, he got a whoopin in the car."
Peterson: "Yep."
Mother: "Why?"
Peterson: "I felt so bad. But he did it his self."
According to the report, Peterson then goes on to say he was disciplining his son for cursing at a sibling, though how specifically the child was wounded wasn't made clear.
Mother: "What did you hit him with?"
Peter never directly answered, the report said, but later replied: "Be still n take ya whooping he would have saved the scare (scar). He aight (all right)."
Literally scarred his four year old child's head. For cursing. How does a four year old child know curse words if not from his parents in the first place???
Teach the kids bad words. Beat your four year old child in the head for using bad words.
The Ray Rice thing I was like 'ehhh, not really my business, don't wanna say too much.'
The FIRST Adrian Peterson thing I was like 'ehhh, a little excessive but not that uncommon.'
Now THIS one!?!? Dude appears to be beating his kids like punching bags for his own sadistic enjoyment and/or emotional therapy.
Remember, Michael Vick went to jail and missed two years of his career for beatings DOGS. Adrian Peterson is basically doing the same thing to his own CHILDREN. If this allegation is true he should be gone even longer than Vick was. And he probably will. This doesn't look good at all. Dude could be goin away from football for good quite honestly.

You believe dude is beating his kids because he gets joy from it? lol
Nah you're right. A professional football player swinging a car seat at a four year old's head is just simply administering sensible discipline.

Why do people keep using this example? This is not the first time I have heard this said. Vick did a hell of a lot more than just "beating dogs". If that was the extent of his crimes he would have probably just payed a fine and gotten probation.

Anyone that defends this is a seriously disturbed person. This child's skin is ripped open and scared. This isn't a simple case of spanking a misbehaving child. This is serious physical abuse.

Is that all of the injuries? If so.. (assuming there isn't a huge mark on his face).. it's a little on the extreme side.. but I wouldn't jail him/take his kid away for it.
Just let him know that you're taking it too far.. that's about it.
The kid is four years old dude. He's not stealing money from the neighbors or experimenting with narcotics. He's a four year old. The punishment was inflicted because the child was cursing in one instance, and in the other the child pushed his sibling.
The only way a four year old could possibly learn curse words is from his parents or the media his parents put in front of him. And sibling toddlers get into push fights and slap fights all the time. You don't have to puts scars on their legs and heads with tree branches and car seats.
Peterson is beating his kids simply because he got beat by his dad and probably wants them to suffer like he did. It's not a matter of legitimately disciplining them with purpose.

If Peterson did that to a total strangers kid...he'd be in jail...for a long time.
But since it's HIS kid...hey, physical assualt of a 4 year old is just gooooooooooood parenting.
Makes sense.

Are their people that seriously think its ok to scar a 4 year old's face to "discipline" them?
:biggums:
Do people that were beaten growing up think that is ok?

Growing up in the US, this shit is extreme. But in these 3rd world countries, they beat the shit out of their kids, especially sons.
It's not right, I would not raise my kid like this, but it could be worse.

Scaring a 4 year olds face intentionally should be a crime imo

The first sponsor has backed away from its involvement with the NFL amid the chaos that has enveloped the league over the past week.
On Monday night, hours after its logo appeared on the banner behind Minnesota Vikings general manager Rick Spielman as he explained the team's decision to play running back Adrian Peterson in the near future, hotel chain Radisson announced it was suspending its sponsorship with the team.
"Radisson takes this matter very seriously particularly in light of our long-standing commitment to the protection of children," the company said, in a statement. "We are closely following the situation and effective immediately, Radisson is suspending its limited sponsorship of the Minnesota Vikings while we evaluate the facts and circumstances."
Peterson was released on bond on Saturday after being indicted on a child-abuse charge that involved hitting his four-year-old son with a stick.
Peterson said in a statement Monday that he didn't abuse his child, but was rather enforcing the discipline that he was given when he was young.
The Vikings deactivated Peterson on Sunday but said on Monday the star running back would be back in action against the New Orleans Saints this weekend as the team lets the legal process play out.

I was beat multiple times when I was very young too. I can see the point of this method of discipline teaching but yeah it can easily go overboard, which Peterson did.
Whats with all these NFL players beating everybody lately? :biggums:

You should discipline your children when warranted. But this is abuse. Come on.

Yeah but now imagine it coming from a full grown adult rather than the girls on the playground.

Cardinals running back Jonathan Dywer was arrested in Arizona on Wednesday on charges related to domestic violence. Dwyer has been charged with aggravated assault and preventing someone from calling 911, the CBS Evening News has reported.
Dwyer was involved in two separate situations in July, according to Fox Sports 1. The victims are listed as a 27-year-old female and an 18-month-old child. Dwyer is married with one child.
According to TMZ, the two altercations allegedly took place on July 21 and July 22 and Dwyer is facing a total of five charges: one count of aggravate assault causing a fracture, one count of aggravated assault involving a minor, two counts of criminal damage and one count of preventing someone from calling 911.
The Cardinals reacted quickly to the arrest, the team announced that Dwyer has been deactivated for this week's game against the 49ers.

Lol as a big AP fan I know he has some baby momas. He grew up rough and his dad wasn't really the ideal parent. Grew up in a bad area and saw his brother get killed at a young age. To be honest, I think some of that child abuse is scary. He's a very powerful man and he did inflict dangerous injuries on his kids. Cuts all over their bodies, etc. I honestly don't remember the NFL cracking down on this stuff ever before as strictly.

People would just find other ways to be dumbed down. In the past haven't you mentioned that you feel ISH is dumbing you down???? There are obviously some benefit to twitter which really doesn't need to be said.

Yeah, and it was embarrassing. But at least I was pursuing a career in entertainment/comedy. Which is a semi-reasonable excuse for using it.
ESPN reports on their front page when a fukcing high school football recruit says something stupid on twitter. Who is actually following these people to even know what they're tweeting, let alone caring if it's something 'controversial'?? Feels like at least half of all news reported these days is about how so-and-so celebrity or quasi-celebrity said some meaningless shit on twitter. Who the fukc follows Jonathan Dwyer on twitter so they can log into their computer and spend time reading what he had for breakfast or what he thinks of Lebron's new shoes? THe shit is so embarrassing.
MMM is correct that people have always found ways to dumb themselves down, I guess it's just annoying how these days it's impossible to avoid seeing them do it all the time. The world has become so overexposed.
