:applause:

The Sacramento Kings announced today that the #16 jersey of three-time NBA All-Star and NBA Champion Peja Stojakovic will be retired on December 16, when the Kings host the Oklahoma City Thunder at Sleep Train Arena. During his eight seasons in Sacramento, the fan-favorite small forward played more games for the Kings than any player during the Sacramento era and had an immeasurable impact on the community both on and off the court.

6 - Fans :facepalm

I would say he deserves it though. Borderline, but I don't see a problem with it. I loved me some Peja back in the day.

They go back to the Rochester Royals, who were contenders in the 40s and 50s (won a title in 1951 with star Bob Davies.) Than to the Cincinnati days of HOF'ers Stokes, Twyman, Robertson and Lucas. Than Omaha City-Kansas City Kings (yes, they had two hometowns at once) where Tiny Archibald comes in (and Sam Lacey I'm surprised his number is retired but not Otis Birdsong's :biggums: .)

Than you have the current Sac-Town era of Mitch, Vlade, Chris and now Peja.

How about Jerry Lucas? He's easily among the all-time greats of the team, but no jersey retirement for him? He's probably the GOAT who's not had his jersey retired by any team.

What about Bibby, Christie, Hedo, Bobby Jackson, and Scott Pollard?

Wow, I assumed his number was in the rafters. Not in New York either. I'm thinking he maybe declined?

-Walt Bellamy has no jersey
-Artis Gilmore
-Marques Johnson

ect.

Might as well add Laurence Funderburke and Jon Barry while you're at it.

It's about damn time. One of the best shooters in NBA history. finished 4th in MVP voting in 2004.

Imo they should just hang a banner with that team and include Bibby/Vlad/Peja/Bobby/Christie/Webb rather than individually hanging them. Cause i don't fee like Bibby/Christie should have there number retired but both were as important if not more so than Peja to the teams success.

Wish the Pacers were that laxed in retiring numbers. Rik Smits and a couple of ABA guys need their jerseys up the rafters.
