Well, the bones of people who died centuries ago have already decayed; new layers of dirt overtake the area; some bodies get buried on top of other bodies previously buried.

I heard people in Alabama go half on funerals now. Say, if someone in their family had just passed away, they'd put an add in the paper to see if anyone would like to do a double funeral.

The Earth is huge. The world's whole population can fit inside Texas with about 1000 sq feet per person, leaving the entire rest of the world empty.
I think this would be a legitimately good use for Texas. J/S

Too many corpses and not enough room was a legit issue in France back in the day. When disease broke out they blamed it on the abundance of dead bodies buried around them.

They dig up all the bones from all the graves and buried them in one location... The Catacombs

The bones of over 4 million people can be seen there today... I've been it's pretty crazy

Not sure yet, obviously something needs to go down with the protagonist or whomever gets dropped in there.

Maybe he was in a coma, presumed dead and dumped. Now he has to find his way out.

Cannibals, zombies, plagues, wild animals, so many choices.

the bodies are used to feed aliens, nobody knows why they're not allowed to bury their dead the old fashioned way

Government law mandates all bodies are sent to Texas... no bodies = unhappy aliens world is in danger..

What i used to wonder was how the cemeteries had enough space for all the buried people plus new people to bury. Ive heard that they can vacate bodies after X amount of years but nothing conclusive. Does anyone know the laws on that in the US?
